Job Responsibilities:

Responsible in performing daily inspection and reporting as per approved inspection test plan.

Witnessing the procedure qualification record (PQR) as per WPS.

Witnessing the welder qualification test (WQT) as per approved WPS.

Ensure that welding carryout as per company approved WPS and welder qualification.

Fit-up inspection, cutting, misalignment, groove angle, root face, root opening, tack weld and preheat temperature, line and joint number, joint surface cleanness.

Visual and Dimensioning inspection of weld profile surface, weld defects, alignment, dimensioning arc strike, interpass and post weld cleaning, and dimensional tolerance.

Inspect hydro and pneumatic tests as per approved procedure and drawings, required pressure and holding time, medium, and personnel barrier/safety.

Inspection and confirmation of welding consumables as per specification.

Verify the consumable storage, backing and its issue control etc.

Preparation of daily reports and documentation.

Review of Contract specification/technical requirements, drawings, and prepare procedures inline- with codes and standards.

Inspect pipe joints and support assemblies as per standards including marking, fit-up, weld visual, final dimensional inspection as per approved drawings.

Verify and control the fabrication activities as per the contract specification /codes and approved drawings.

Verify that all applicable equipment’s is calibrated and has valid certification.

Detailed study of Isometric drawings, P&ID, GA diagrams and check the specification of materials.

Having Knowledge and experience in SAW, MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW welding.

Familiar with international codes and standards like ASME, API, AWS, ASTM.

Liaison with customer and external agencies for inspection carried out during job execution.

Ensure customer complains related to quality are investigated and necessary corrective and -preventive actions are implemented.

Monitor and analyze critical control points as identified in the process to ensure that planned results are achieved.

Compile and verify daily welding production reports and ensure compliance to NDT requirements.

Ensure that all quality documentation and inspection reports are collated, endorsed and compiled correctly.

Notify the non-conformance identified during site inspection and recommended corrective -measures to site supervisor through QA engineer.

Maintain the records of inspection and testing till the end of contract.

Responsible for stage wise painting / coating inspection.

To check and monitor all painting / coating related works and ensure all final products meet in accordance with company procedure, client requirement and international codes.

Review inspection & test plan (ITP) for specific project / company requirements/ surface preparation and painting / coating procedure, Project Quality Plan, Method Statement etc

Monitor and record weather condition for surface preparation and painting / coating application.

Conduct visual inspection after abrasive blast cleaning, measure the surface profile as per standard.

Conduct required tests, WFT/DFT, Chloride test, Holiday test, Adhesion test.

Monitor the loading and offloading of coated materials and advise to prevent handling damages.

Check the color coding, stenciling, flow direction etc, for Piping and Equipments.

Perform final visual inspection, check any coating faults, recommends for remedial action.

Prepare Punch list items and submit to the concerned.

Report any Non Conformance.

Responsible for incoming coating / painting material inspection and has to ensure whether these materials suit to meets the requirements of project specifications.

Check the material storage is as per manufacturer’s recommendations.

Liaison with sub-contractors, TPI and Client.

Assist and participate in quality & HSE audits and other inspection as applicable.

Preparation of detailed Inspection cum Quality Report and maintaining ISO 9001 documents.

Preparing inspection reports and compiles with quality records from manufacturers and suppliers.

Preparing final documentation for all the inspection with the results and remarks.
