•Distributive: Evaluate patient’s medication orders and dispense appropriate medications and dosage forms, properly labeled after reviewing for completeness, eligibility and appropriateness of drug, dose, route, strength, and quantity to be dispensed. Review for drug incompatibilities, inappropriate combinations, potential adverse drug reactions, dosage ranges, intra-agency polypharmacy practices, and initiates cancellation of non-active or duplicate prescriptions. •Fill medication orders, medication carts and prepare IV solutions, piggybacks, syringes and hyper alimentation for all inpatient settings.

•Administrative: Keep the Chief of Pharmacy Service, Assistant Chief of Pharmacy Operations or his/her designee informed of drug inventory, which includes monitoring of effective stock levels, expiration dates, proper storage conditions, and inventory control procedures. Prioritize work, adjust dispensing and preparation activities, and accomplish effective clinical and distributive services. When assigned, perform other duties that are deemed essential to the pharmacy operation.
