Learning Resource Center Coordinator-Vista College El Paso

Inventoried books and magazines continuously. Entered books through the Readerware program and magazines through an EXCEL program. Also, used Readerware to delete inventory that was not current. Included the deposition of the books before they were deleted.

Trained new faculty and new students on how to access an online library program called EBSCOhost. Gave a tour of the library to the new instructors.

Assisted twice with the Council of Occupational Education accreditation process for the media center.

Tutored students, including those with special needs.

Proctored the medical certification exams through National Healthcare Association and National Association of Healthcare Professionals. Registered students for their certification exams as well as their practice exams. Requested transcripts on the students as well as set up the dates and times for the exams.

Held monthly reviews for the Medical Insurance Billing and Coding students over the information on their certification exam.

Set up information fairs at least twice a year to provide students information on WIC, Child Support, Legal Aid, Center against Sexual and Family Violence, and other organizations. Also, set up Bone Marrow Donation educational drives.

Assisted with the National Technical Honor Society as a co-sponsor. Set up the induction ceremonies and decorated the hall. Also, entered students into the database and checked into their qualifications. In addition, held Easter Basket Drives for The Reynold’s Home for four years in a row. Participated in fund raisers for Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Conducted Thanksgiving Baskets for 4 years for students and Special Olympics.

Wrote competencies and exams for the Medical Laboratory Technician program and ordered supplies for the program.

Instructor Vista College

Taught psychology classes primarily. In addition, developed exams for the Psychology classes.

Taught a variety of medical classes including Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Billing, Medical Office Procedures, Law and Ethics, and Human Diseases both in El Paso and Las Cruces. Checked exams for errors and corrected test bank. Wrote reviews. Assisted in calling about the status of students on externship.

Assisted with the medical club in El Paso.

Assisted other instructors in their classes as well as substituted when instructors were absent.

Assisted with Honor Society and the Caduceus Medical Club at the Las Cruces campus.
