Transition Services Specialist/Career Skills Program Manager

Ft. Hood, Texas December 2016 – Present

Serve as the Transition Services Specialist for the Army's largest installation and power projection platform, supporting up to 45,000 Active Duty Soldiers and approximately 8,000 mobilizing and demobilizing Reserve Component Soldiers, retirees, eligible DA Civilians, and family members. Manages ten (10) Army Career Skills Programs (CSP) and provide operational oversight and organizational vision to the largest Soldier for Life-Transition Assistance Program (SFL-TAP) CSP in the Army.

•Ensures timely and efficient delivery of transition services for Army directives including Title 10 US Code 1142-1144 and Veterans Opportunity to Work Act Public Law 112-56.

•Government point of contact for the entire CSP/Central Texas College/Industry partner processes and coordinates with federal, state, local agencies and private-sector service providers.

•Keeps unit commanders, public officials and employers abreast of the program, in particular policies, procedures, trends, and problems pertaining to the program.

Accomplishments

•Developed and implemented a CSP Overview Brief that resulted in the eligibility screening, entrance examination and acceptance packet processing of over 3,500 Soldiers interested in on-duty career skills opportunities.

•Worked one on one with industry leaders, recruiters and hiring managers to screen, identify and pre-hire over 350 Soldiers into the installation's six on-duty career skills training programs.

•Executed and disseminated policy guidance from the Commander on all matters related to the workforce.

•Conducted biannual visits to 34 units (Stations) composed of over 450 military and 885 civilian personnel and executed policies pertaining to performance, care, conduct, management, and training to the entire workforce.

Fort Drum, NY October 2012 – July 2013

Provided direct area financial management and movement control to the 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum and the Northeast Region.

•Evaluated personnel qualifications for special assignments, prepared and processed requests for transfers.

•Coached and trained managers, directors, and team members on HR/ER related issues, organizational trends, and labor laws that impacted the work environment including employee retention, turnover, and employee grievances.

•Advised Battalion Commander on all matters concerning enlisted Soldiers and responsible for the health, welfare, safety, discipline, training, and professional development of 495 soldiers.

Command Sergeant Major/Senior Enlisted Advisor – HQ, 10th STB, 10th SBDE

Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan September 2011 – October 2012

Provided synchronized sustainment to the 10th Sustainment Brigade and units operating in regional Commands-North, East, and Capital in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Unified Land Operations.

•Responsible for seven assigned companies, with a total assigned strength of 812 Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen and two Afghan National Army (ANA) Corps Logics Kandacks to promote the logistics build up, operation and independence of Afghan Security Forces.

•Responsible for developing and instructing Human Resources Management classes to the United Arab Emirates.

•Developed different training approaches based on the target audience and budget including instructor led, online, and webinar training.

•Conducting an initial analysis of training and developed future training priorities.

•Developed and instructed several HR courses which included Responding to Employee Inquiries, Conducting Formal / Informal Investigations, and how to Conduct ER related trends analysis.
