Enhanced the features of existing PL/SQL data purging engine to automate deletion of
600 million unwanted records from an integrated database. Performed reverse engineering of data models and provided insight on existing logical and physical relationship between 40 schemas and 3000 entities.
Improved performance of purging activity using parallel DMLs at the same time prevented constraint violation errors by following the order of deletion of rows for tables with referential constraints. Provided a toolset design and code to purge 600 million records from database and earned value to client by improving DB system performance, reclaimed disk space and saving dollars on maintenance and per CPU software licenses.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for major Oracle database and server consolidation effort comprised of high-end
UNIX servers which was completed ahead of schedule and led to $500k in annual cost savings.
Managed RMAN backups using Commvault tool, conducted performance tuning analysis and
modification and developed standard operating procedures.

Migrated 200 TB of warehouse databases into cluster using RMAN backup based cloning and
without using third party tools.
Duties included database optimization and performance tuning, developing and implementing
backup and recovery procedures, database installation, upgrades and migration, monitoring
and maintaining the databases and resolve locking issues.
