Currently a Researcher in the Expert Witness & Advisory Services team at Capita Real Estate & Infrastructure, assisting experts with project management and writing of their reports. Read an MPhil Egyptology at the University of Oxford and eager to get back into a role which offers me cerebral stimulation, as well as commercial exposure in a field I have affinity with. Tenacity and attention to detail is how I excelled in my studies and my professional roles to date, but my intellectual curiosity is what makes me highly adaptable, as my career (academic and commercial) thus far attests.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
RESEARCHER, EXPERT WITNESS & ADVISORY SERVICES - CAPITA REAL ESTATE & INFRASTRUCTURE
2018 - Present
I guide, mentor and support professionals with project management who have been instructed by solicitors to provide expert advice. I quickly assimilate new concepts to grasp the background and crucial aspects of cases in order to perform evidential research, verify reports for non-technical accessibility, completeness, consistency, style, and compliance with the relevant procedure rules. I have also sourced profiles and articles to put together marketing materials, such as brochures and handbooks. I have been directly instrumental in manipulating significant datasets (into charts, etc.) for use in disputes with regard to irregularities related to three residential developments in the Caribbean, a beam connection failure in a central London office building, a landslip in northern England, deterioration of façade materials on a refurbished residential development in London, piling designs at a North England waste treatment facility, and a sinkhole and associated remedial works at a social housing development in Hertfordshire. All these projects involve working to tight timescales and with large amounts of raw data.
RESEARCHER, CIO & IT TRANSFORMATION GROUP - ODGERS BERNDTSON
2015 - 2018
I started at Odgers Berndtson, the UK’s no1 Executive Search firm, as a Graduate Researcher in a cross-sector, functional, practice and earned a promotion to Researcher in Dec 2016. I supported two Partners as the sole Researcher (Oct 2016 - Aug 2017), juggling multiple (FTSE 350) assignments at a time. This included running the search process from start to finish, mapping the market, identifying candidates, and qualifying them to put together a strong short-list for the client. This meant getting to grips with a new sector with each new search, whilst endeavouring to match candidate and client needs. Several of my searches reached a positive outcome directly due to my ability to establish and maintain candidate relationships. We ran a weekly reporting cycle, which meant that process driven time management was absolutely key. My most successful and demanding search (for the GBG plc CEO) started when I was just 2 months into the role.
MINING RECRUITMENT CONSULTANT - HIRE RESOLVE, CAPE TOWN
2014 - 2015
I focussed on recruiting for the Mining sector in South Africa, handling all aspects of 360 contingent recruitment; screening CVs, identifying candidates, interviewing candidates, approaching potential clients. I made two placements within my probation period and made my first placement two weeks after starting, while my training manager was on leave for a week.
STUDENT ASSISTANT - STELLENBOSCH UNIVERSITY
2010 - 2012
I acted as Student Assistant to the Chair of the Department of Ancient Studies. I was the first point of contact for students and liaised between students and lecturers. I marked essays, supervised exams and had the opportunity to guest lecture on my thesis topic in the Women in Ancient Egypt course.
GUEST LECTURER - UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN
Apr 2012 - Apr 2012
I had the opportunity to guest lecture six topics in the First Years’ Introduction to Ancient Egypt course. It was my first time presenting to a large audience ( 100 students) and I achieved a 76% approval rating.
SOCIETIES & INTERESTS
Extracurricular: Lady Margaret Hall, Middle Common Room Executive Council - Social Secretary 2012/2013
Acting as a representative of the MCR at benefactors’ events, amongst which was an event at the John Soane Museum in London, where £550k were raised. I managed the social budget and arranged and managed social events.
Notably, I innovated the formal dining allocation ballot - before my tenure it was first come first served, I felt this was unfair due to the fact that people were unable to access the service at the same time. So I used Google docs and an open source randomiser, to fairly allocate students to either their first, or second choice formal.
