I worked in the daytime care program for special needs adults and in the work program for special needs adults and I also did transportation afterwards in company vans taking them home afterwards. I had to make sure the clients under my care were healthy, happy(as reasonably possible, depending on their irritability), and safe at all times. For some of the clients that meant changing diapers and observing their behavior to determine their needs since a few of my clients were non verbal. I had to do daily notes on how my clients' day was and for the work program I had to make sure their time sheets were always up to date while making sure they all knew their responsibilities and had the means to do their set job for the day. I also learned how to write incident reports and took pictures when a client got an injury or came into the center with one. Sometimes I had to help the clients with their work which was cleaning up the center or show them how to correctly do it with hand over hand instructions or showing and telling how to do it. We would take the clients out on outings twice a week and keep an eye on them at the park or wherever we took them to. I excelled in this position and truly loved my clients and co-workers but I had to leave due to paychecks frequently being wrong amounts or not given in the timely manner promised when interviewed for the job. I was given CPR training for this job and I got my level one clearance card for this position which is still up to date. Customer Service Representative

Responsibilities

For about 2 years or 1&1/2 I would dress up in costumes and entertain for children's' birthday parties and events at restaurants and public places, and as an assistant at set up to clean up parties. but after 1 year and a half my employer began leaving me in charge at events that she couldn't make it to. I kept kids entertained as a costumed character for most days that I worked for Kikks and Giggles but eventually some days I would simply be left in charge. My responsibilities when left in charge would be to advertise to potential customers, make sure that the characters started on time and I would make sure they got their break on time, I would be in charge of keeping kids from getting rowdy or mean towards the characters, I had to make sure my fellow workers were doing everything right, I would be in charge of keeping the energy up and the kids having fun, and I would even be tasked with getting the money at the end of the event. Some days I would be a part of a crew that would set up themed birthday parties where I would also break everything down, put it all back away, clean up after the party, during the party I would help with feeding the guests and help all the children with making bracelets.

Accomplishments

I made so many kids' dreams come true and have the best birthday parties ever. I made so many parents and children very happy by helping events run smoothly and by doing the best could to be in character and make the kids happy. I have so many gifts from that job of pictures draw from the kids I played with and I will forever remember the way some of them looked at me when I would hold their hand. I touched the hearts of many with my dedication to continue playing and dancing no matter how tired I got and try to keep up with the exuberance of my fans for the day. This dedication and hard work didn't go unnoticed which is why Lisa (my boss) began to give me more responsibilities because she knew I was dependable.

Skills Used

In this job I used time keeping skills, social skills, and quick thinking. I exhibited great stamina and determination. I was always early to events because I have great accountability. I also exhibited good leadership skills by giving encouragement, constructive criticism, and by giving orders when it was my job to take charge. Those were also some ways that I demonstrated good communication skills. In this job I also got pretty good at quickly and efficiently advertising. Another skill I had with this job was adaptability; sometimes plans would change at a moment's notice and I had to adapt to the different situation very quickly.
