Design Manager (2011-2015)

Managed design staff of (4) Print Designers and (2) Digital Designers. Established priorities and schedules, and delegated projects accordingly. Oversaw and approved all creative generated by the department. Projects included new product development (packaging, logos), email blasts and web graphics, store signage (interior and exterior), advertisements, and event graphics.

Executed redesign of the company’s wholesale catalog when internal clients requested a more upscale look. This, combined with improved content from the buyers, resulted in a 20%+ increase in sales in one year. Solely responsible for all layout and design, 6x-year (later monthly).

Generated document flow, style sheets, price boxes and templates for 80-page Premium catalog 12x/year. This front-end prep prevented possible redundancies during the 2-week design process. Assembled final press-ready document, preflight and transmitted files and coordinated proofs.

Directed and monitored photo shoots as needed. Ensured availability of products for photography as required. Functioned as back-up photographer.

Art Director (2005 –2011)

Oversaw creative development of Cigar Magazine. Assigned pages, coordinated content with editors, buyers and writers. Other responsibilities as described below under Senior Graphic Designer.

Senior Graphic Designer (2003 –2005)

Generated page layouts and high-level photo retouching for premium catalog (6 issues per year at the time) and Cigar Magazine (4 issues per year), as well as all other design materials generated by the department.
