Job Responsibilities;
Incinerator Operator-
Understand and abide by all relevant documentation regulations, guidelines and procedures. Sign copies as instructed by the supervisor officer to indicate understanding the same.
Report any undecided events, unsafe practices or near accidents observed to the superior officer/s and attempt to rectify them if safely possible.
Participate actively in all training or drills and any security measures as instructed
Maintain order in his area of responsibilities and operate the incinerator as instructed by his supervisor and environmental officer
Maintenance and upkeep of the incinerator room and associated equipment
Will the member of the safety committee or any other official shipboard body set up under the authority of the Master, If called upon to do so.
Will Participate in waste management duties as directed by the shipboard management
Perform any security related duties as require by the ship security officer
Any other duties as delegated by the supervisor within the scope of rank
Act as Department Environment representative if required
Mechanic-
Do all repairs and other maintenance of all waste processing machinery on board the ship such as glass crusher, tin glass compacter, incinerators, food waste pullers and other machinery under The supervision of first engineer.
Do all Cooler cleaning sea chest, compressor cleaning and other machinery needs cleaning every required hour.
Assist the 1st engineer during the engine overhaul, other main engine job such as main engine checks liner cleaning, piston heading seals replacements oil transfer, bucketing, sludge and sewage shorts discharge fuel and water value replacement. Turbo chargers cleaning and checking and other required engine repairs
Waste disposal supervisor-
My duties are to keep the incinerator & garbage room plant, operational in good clean &efficient manner.
In charge for incinerator plant operation & minor maintenance, such as burner adjustments, nozzle tip cleaning or changing chamber cleaning, moving grate roller greasing, hydraulic cylinder greasing & panel board programing for exact burner temperature for startup burning.
In charge for food waste system plant minor maintenance, Such as water press filter cleaning, pumps changing & pulpier blades changing & system scheduling rotation and motor pumps checks.
In charge in handling for waste generated on board especially hazardous waste must be properly documented and labeled, manual safety data sheets (MSDS), Must be attached in container. All garbage must be property segregated, labeled before sending to incinerator room, no aerosols, lighters on any material that can cause explosion.
Al garbage must be recorded to garbage log.
In charge for photo waste processing using silver recovery unit.
In charge for safety checks of incinerator &food waste plant safety gadgets such as alarms, sensors emergency stops hydraulic power packs, communication & manual valves.
In charge of training of new crews for proper operations for incinerator plant. The safety familiarization. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Acting as also as pest manager controller on board on ship, trained by the state of California certified pest controller & Fulton marine international
Implementing petty officer for the company environment compliance plan. The compliance of the United States of public health (USPH) & United kingdom public health(UKPH) rules & regulations for handling garbage
Report to staff chief engineer any issues arising from incinerator plant.
Operations such as crew not following separation scheme, machinery major problem, machinery shut down for maintenance, & operation work schedules
Reporting for environmental officers for the list of waste to be landed supporting with the documents, quantity and classifications for 24 hours’ notice.
Motorman-
Responsibilities for engine watch under the supervision of 2nd engineer of the watch
Do engines, Preparation during department and arrival.
Do boilers start, water generators and other engine machinery when required.
Assist second engineer in maintenance in assign machinery such as pacifier oil and waste separator boiler incinerators and other machinery.
Do engine careful watch for any unfamiliar movements and sounds.
Do engine and sounding and reading, pressure checks running hours temperature oil levels and other engine decks
Do a minor or temporary repair during watch when necessary and engine housekeeping.
Always assist the duty engineer for engine smooth and good operation.
Wiper-
Direct reporting to 2nd engineer & chief mechanic.
Performing Engine jobs such as blidge cleaning, painting washing using pressure machine.
Assisting watch engineer in all bunkering operation sludge & sewage discharge.
Assisting chief mechanic in cleaning boiler removing carbon by using firehose.
Cleaning & changing filters both main engines and auxiliary. Such as, centrifugal filters, lube oil filters, automatic filters lube oil heavy oil and diesel filters.
Assisting reefer engineer, cleaning fan room, compressor maintenance air ducting cleaning, fire flap greasing, filter wash freezer defrosting.
Report to sanitation officers for garbage incinerators
Assist engines jobs from main engine overhaul such as cylinder heads piston liner bearing shaft, turbo chargers, cooling system pumps, motor generators, & incinerator.
