Position: Respiratory Care Clinical Coordinator
Alexian Brothers Medical Center is a state of the art 600 bed Level II Trauma, Level II Nursery facility offering a wide range of advanced medical care including; a 6 bed Cardiovascular surgical unit, a 30 bed ICU/CCU, a 6 bed Neuro ICU as well as, a 20 bed Emergency Department.
Clinical Responsibilities:
• Disbursement of daily assignments to 8-10 therapists on the day shifts.
• Supervise administration of all therapies maintaining consistence with AARC guidelines.
• Monitor staffing issues.
• Partner with Nurse Practitioner responding to all “Rapid Response Team” calls.
• Provide respiratory services to all ancillary departments.
• Administer all modes of respiratory including invasive/non-invasive, and high frequency ventilatory management utilizing therapist driven protocols, nebulizer therapy, arterial blood gas puncture/analysis, bronchial hygiene evaluations, nitric oxide delivery and heliox therapies.
• Assist with bronchoscopy and intubations.
• Perform all extubations.
• Respond and coordinate all Code Blue/Trauma situations.
