Project Name – Empirical Analysis of Bilateral Trade of India in Cosmetics Industry: An Econometric Approach of Gravity Model
The present study focuses on cosmetic trade between India and other countries. Using annual dataset from period (2008-16). The main objective of this research is to evaluate the determinants of cosmetic trade using gravity model. A panel data setup is constructed and used to estimate the determinants and evaluate the empirical results. Dependent variable is cosmetic trade between host (India) and Source (other Countries). And independent variables are per capita GDP of host and source country, GDP Growth rate of Host and Source Country and distance between host and source country. These data are collected from WITS and World Bank. The results reveal that the bilateral trade is positively linked with market size and negatively with distance between the pair countries.
