I manage and lead our technical team (reservoir engineers, geoscience techs, engineering techs, analysts) in all subsurface valuation support for A&D buy side and sell side transactions including the data room build up and execution. Advise our clients on technical, value add detail, necessary to obtain the best market price for their assets. I also manage and lead the technical team in assisting our fairness opinion desk by screening the upside potential and economics of target assets. I manage subsurface knowledge capture in all major US basins (conventional and unconventional) such as the Haynesville Shale trend, Permian Basin, SCOOP trend, Stack trend, Miss Lime trend, California LA Basin, San Joaquin Basin, Hugoton Basin, Powder River Basin, Appalachian Basin, Green River Basin, Uinta Basin, Williston Basin, and the Eagle Ford trend. I have continually reached out to basin experts when needed to add technical strength to our work products and supplement our technical insight by planning internal technical talks. Additionally, I have advised our A&D group and the broader banking group with regard to new concepts and opportunities, basin quality and ranking, and critical play elements. I have assisted the bank in closing multiple restructuring and A&D transactions from 2016-18 with a total deal value of approximately 1.8B generating 18MM in revenue. Participated in various pitches in the aforementioned basins. I was co-speaker for the annual Houlihan Lokey energy conference in New York City in February 2017. Primary subsurface software used for valuation work is Petra.

04/2015 to – 10/2015, Director Geoscience, Energy A&D Advisory, Credit Agricole Securities (USA) INC.

Managed and led the subsurface valuation work for the A&D and RBL group. Performed basin wide subsurface quick look and/or detailed evaluations of client assets. High graded and/or ranked upside inventories as part of the PV10 valuation process. Evaluated various assets in the Texas gulf coast, Permian Basin, Louisiana gulf coast, South Texas, and the CNOW area in Oklahoma. Participated in various pitches. Managed the implementation of core technical subsurface software for the bank and additionally brought in industry experts for various technical talks related to resources that the bank may use for client support when evaluating oil and gas properties.

04/2014 to – 4/2015, Director Geoscience, Energy A&D Advisory, BMO Capital Markets.

While at BMO I managed the subsurface portion of our A&D teams valuation efforts for various A&D mandates. Performed basin wide geologic play fairway studies that clarified for clients their relative position within core play areas. I high graded and ranked acreage within a given basin position and assisted the A&D team in defining PV10 value by enhancing the understanding of the geological framework and associated upside. Completed the subsurface technical summaries and presented the subsurface portion in data rooms for Eagle Ford, Marcellus, San Juan (Gallup Zone), Permian Upper Clear Fork, Powder River Basin (3 deals), and SCOOP Woodford. Participated in various pitches in multiple US basins. Part of a team that closed just over 1 Billion in buy and sell side A&D transactions in 2014.

Managed the prospect inventory for OXY’s Ulysses and Holcomb areas in the Hugoton field Kansas. Duties included water-flood planning and associated earth-modeling, full geophysical interpretation with depth conversion, primary well planning, workover identification, pore pressure modelling, and outside lease area evaluations. Led the development of the PUD inventory and reserves review summaries. My water flood and new well proposal work in the Hugoton field assisted our asset team in breaking the historical oil production record for OXY’s Hugoton asset (~5000 BOPD increased to 12,000 BOPD (and rising) in three years). Assisted OXY in divesting the Hugoton asset in Kansas, which led to OXY obtaining an optimal price for the sale (1.1B). The optimal sales price was due to knowledge capture initiatives that facilitated a clear value picture for the buyer (“Building the house to sell”). Continually mentored young geoscientists, and advanced several OXY best practices that were incorporate into our daily workflows within the business unit. Previously did the same work in our South Texas Business Unit (McCallen Ranch Vicksburg) before moving to Hugoton. Received a company award in June 2013 for software knowledge sharing and mentoring.
