Supports the Controller in directing and coordinating the organization’s payroll function. Responsibilities include, but were not limited to, establishing and maintaining the organization’s policies, practices and procedures related to (a) the weekly and bi-weekly processing of payroll, (b) evaluation and compliance of foreign artists and contractors, (c) administration of union contracts, (d) reconciliation and analysis of payroll tax liabilities and (e) the interpretation/implementation of new technical standards, laws and regulations.

Provide direction and support to departments throughout the organization regarding payroll policies and procedures, determination of the classification of individuals as either employees or independent contractors, compliance with international artist and vendor regulations, implementation of new practices, procedures laws and regulations, and efficient control and utilization of payroll resources.

Coordinate and oversee (1) preparation of monthly and annual payroll statements and reports and other information reports and requests and (2) routine and non-routine daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual processes (e.g., weekly, bi-weekly payroll process, quarterly reconciliations, union rate calculations, Lawson payroll module table and deduction/pay code maintenance, annual independent audit, insurance audits, etc.); ensure accuracy and integrity of payroll tax and liability reporting and ensure proper internal controls are in place and operating effectively in all facets of payroll-related operations.
