Experiences

2015- 2016 Research Assistant, Institute of Environmental Medicine (IMM), Karolinska Institutet, Solna.

As a research assistant, I participated in designing of different studies of relevance for metal extraction and skin deposition of metals on skin, and prepared, conducted, and evaluated trace metal analysis (Inductively coupled plasma spectrometry- ICP-MS).

Furthermore I prepared the documents and contributed to conduct a clinical study on chromium allergy and chromium-tanned leather. I met over 32 research persons within 4 weeks at the Centrum for Occupational and Environmental Medicine (Stockholm County Council) which I helped in organization, and conducted most of the documentation of the study in Karolinska Institutes electronic lab book system. I have drafted three different manuscripts of which two have been published in Contact Dermatitis and one is under process.

As a research assistant, I’ve been participating in and contributing to various research activities at the unit. Some of my assignments have been Participating in planning and designing of experiments, surveying literature, participating in journal clubs, performing the experimental procedure, modifying and validating skin sampling methods, handling the research subjects, participating in field sampling, running and analysing the metal samples with ICP-MS instrument, documenting the experimental procedures in the electronic lab book, and draft the manuscript that published in Contact Dermatitis June 2015. 2002-2005 Pharmacist, Razes Pharmacy, Dubai.
