Dear Hiring Professional,
Leveraging construction to afford schooling, and utilizing the lessons learned towards progressing in the industry of construction, I’ve made my way through some adventurous projects taking on roles that kept me outside of a comfort zone and forced me to progressively learn the project management discipline.
Currently, having spent approximately 2000 hours in project management, I’m looking to join an organization that will allow an opportunity to acquire PMP and ACP Certifications. With my education I’m looking to launch my career into Systems Engineering with an organization that has a deep appreciation for the ROI’s that well-constructed systems provide.
Utilizing the toolsets found in SDLC and PLC I approach each project with a conscience mindset for key stakeholders, organization, crews, and various other elements involved. With careful attention to organizational needs, I ensure that stakeholders are informed of options and expected performances before putting pencil to paper, this ensures that all members identify the risks unilaterally. With cost expectations in mind, I make the most use of Agile combined with RAD and JAD methodologies to ensure components of the system are delivered as expected, and that each subsequent increment is built from lessons learned derived from the previous phase. Utilizing this approach allows stakeholders to identify improvements, and bugs, within the system before the system is fully delivered.
Backend, Middle Tier, and Frontend developments must be accompanied by fully annotated documentation. I present with SSM and HSM, an analysis of current business climate, complete DFD’s for each component, Use Case studies, ERD’s, ERDM, (Chen, Crows foot or UML in a monolithic, uniform, and consistent fashion), Structure Charts, and Technological modeling. Included in these documents are the system requirement sheets for Hardware, OS, software, and finally the Test Plan with direct involvement of system testing. Included in this package are the lessons learned, and various cut sheets that bring the customer a total view of their new system.
Not every component to the system needs homebrewed, many should come from the shelf. To maximize on system ROI this is carefully evaluated, and where applicable, utilized to bring the greatest value to the organization. Inclusions of DSS, ESS, KBS, and ERP systems are typically best when homebrewed, and is where organizations find greatest value for investment. Because of this, these are areas where I apply the greatest time and effort to ensure successful assimilation of the system within the client’s corporate culture.
Warm regards,
Vincent Whipkey

Florida Institute of Technology – Online - CIS
Having mastered courses of Management, Systems Analysis and Design, Business Software Essentials, Business Driven Technology, Database Development and Design, VB and ASP.Net Advanced, Electronic Commerce, Marketing, Business Law, Java and Management of Information Systems.
I have also personally undertaken the studies of Linux Server, Windows Server Enterprise Administration, PMP, PMI – ACP; SCRUM and Agile methodologies in preparations for Certifications.

Leadership
I’ve spent 10+ years leading individuals and crews in the construction industry. In academia, I was a front-man taking a first mover lead for group projects. I approach with open, honest, and sensitive inquiry while leading by example in effort to gain the knowledge that my receiver is attempting to communicate my direction. It’s been my experience the best way to resolve many conflicts is to listen attentively, offer coaching, or guidance, as necessary to the conflict, and allow for a natural solution to be identified when possible. Utilizing passive or active tone to control the conversation to ensure it remains fruitful.
