EXPERIENCE
Mechanical Engineer (Co-op): Abbott, Westford, MA Jan, 2017 – Aug, 2017
Supported team with DFMEA and hazard analysis for new PCI disposable imaging catheters during concept and definition phases.
Statistically analyzed data using Minitab and presented findings to senior management, demonstrating that changing reference test material for in-process control methods would risk yield loss of 3.2% and 17.8% for two disposable imaging catheters.
Performed full factor DOE to determine the best combination of factors to improve bond strength between PEBAX parts. Factors included multiple UV adhesives, surface treatment, loading conditions, bond gap.
Supported scrap reduction activities by performing capability analysis on incoming inspection data to determine capability on critical dimensions.
Developed Design Verification test methods, design specifications and associated test fixtures.
Modeled 3D CAD parts, assemblies, B.O.M.s and drafted engineering drawings using Solidworks, including GD&T and tolerance stackup analysis.
Provided design input to resolve kink issues and improve deliverability by re-engineering supplier reflow manufacturing processes.
Planned and executed project to obtain REACH, ROHS and Conflict minerals compliance certificates from suppliers.
Teaching Assistant: Engineering Probability & Statistics: Northeastern University, Boston, MA Sept,. 2016 – Dec, 2016
Assisted over 50 Graduate students in providing statistical advice on conditional probabilities, discrete and continuous distributions, hypothesis testing, linear regression.
Set up assignments, term exam papers, quizzes and graded them, and maintained details on an online database.
Account Service Manager: Akamai Technologies, Bangalore Aug,. 2014 – June, 2015
Managed 40 US and South America based clients, operating as the lead point of contact for all matters.
Cultivated strong relationships through customer service to build loyalty.
Built client focused monthly/quarterly business reports to communicate usage patterns and growth areas.
Improved monthly usage report building system by automating certain key aspects reducing cycle time by 6 work hours/month
Assistant System Engineer: Tata consultancy services, Pune Dec,. 2013 - June 2014
Participated in intensive three-month New Product Design and Development Process training program.
Trained in Unigraphics NX and Geometric Dimension and Tolerance.
Led a team of four, which designed and developed an assistive seating prototype for automobiles intended to be used by the elderly. Appreciated by management for efforts towards frugal engineering.
Awarded Star of the learner’s group, among 40 other participants during the training program.
ACADEMIC PROJECT
FEA Analysis of Circular Aluminum Load Cell
Developed MatLab based program to analyze mechanics of slender planar structure.
The program assembles a global stiffness matrix using the individual beam stiffness matrices. After application of appropriate boundary conditions, the problem is solved using penalty method.
Simulated a circular aluminum load cell using a collection of beam elements (8-128 elements) with membrane deflection capabilities.
