Mechanical Engineering Internship, Gas Technology Research Institute June – Septermber 2018
• Working in a team of engineers and contractors to build, troubleshoot, and test pilot gas plant for production of ethylene, hydrogen gas, and other hydrocarbon-based polymers.
• Using PNID’s and control system to check over automated valves, controllers, and sensors in system to identify errors in either the physical system or the controls system. Materials Research Lab, UCSB – Research Intern (RISE) June 2016 – June 2018
• Worked under bioengineering post doc analyzing foam structure of wet adhesives made by salt water mussels.
• Troubleshot automated system to monitor mussels by adjusting python code.
• Worked with advanced machinery (SEM and AFM) for both maintenance and experiments.
• Machined custom size stubs to hold samples in SEM and a device to hold byssal threads under tension.
• 3D printed various renditions of a thread mount for mechanical testing. Humidity Control Project, Microfluidics Lab, UCSB March 2017 – June 2017
• Planned and constructed humidity control device using Arduino Nano, desiccants, LCD, and various sensors.
• Coded Arduino to run device, monitoring and changing humidity of an enclosed system.

• Led a team of four to plan, design, and fabricate a simple, dancing robot with a $120 budget.
