McBee Associates, Inc. is a financial and managerial consulting firm providing services to over 3,500 hospitals, health systems, and home health agency clients nation-wide. Headquartered in Wayne, PA with a staff of over 375 healthcare consulting professionals, including 125 remote clinical nurses in 30 different states, the firm provides cutting edge clinical outsourcing services, Revenue Cycle outsourcing and operational and financial consulting services.
Almost all of the services provided by the firm are driven by proprietary systems, technology, and processes. Highly experienced and extremely knowledgeable systems and technology professionals are required in order to maintain and enhance current applications, as well as to develop and implement new technology/systems to support the firm’s rapidly growing client base and service offerings.
Senior Director of Information Systems and Technology (March 2010 – September 2017)
Responsibilities:
Lead the daily operations of the systems and technology groups with a total of 20 employees.
Responsible for management of all software utilized by the firm, from initial design, through testing to implementation.
Directs engineering, implementation and maintenance of the firm’s network, which includes over 40 servers located through the company’s five east-coast offices. Includes implementing and maintaining VPN’s into over 50 clients and the daily exchange of data between the client’s system and McBee Associates systems.
Responsible for obtaining SOC2 certification for three proprietary systems.
Accomplishments: Developed weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports to monitor key areas within the network and systems in order to satisfy the requirements of SOC2 certification.
Lead systems support for McBee Associates premier product solution: OASIS Coding and Tracking – a quality healthcare solution for tracking OASIS accuracy and reporting measurable analytics back to the client. McBee Associates provides this service to over 225 hospitals nationwide.
Accomplishments: Developed sophisticated QA and productivity tracking software in all systems to enable successful management of accuracy and productivity of remote clinical staff. Also improved processing speed within the application that resulted in a doubling of the services provided to clients over the course of two years.
Responsible for the security of the Private Healthcare Information (PHI) on McBee Associates networks.
Accomplishment: Developed system to auto-process files received from various clients from multiple platforms (McKesson, EPIC, Allscripts and others) to populate internal applications eliminating the need for clients to manually enter their information for processing. Processing over 35 files encompassing thousands of records for 4 different applications with minimal monitoring every day.
Subject matter expert on Global Pricing System application. Developed 20 years ago, clients have contacted McBee Associates to upgrade the software numerous times over the years and is currently still in use at 2 hospitals (Johns Hopkins Healthcare and INOVA).
Accountable for next-generation web-based solutions for clients to access their analytics and recommendations supplied by McBee Associates.
Director of Information Technology and Systems (November 2006 – February 2010)
Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, developing and deploying custom software applications for over 25 business solutions ranging in development from Access front end, SQL back end, Silverlight, VB.net, ASP.Net.
Effectively managed I/T infrastructure of servers, network, database, desktop, laptop and Data Center support and operations. Responsible for all technical support and operations including backup, disaster recovery, security and business continuity.

Accomplishment: Tripled the department staff members from 2006 to 2008 and introduced the use of Business Analysts to facilitate application development.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing Information Technology staff overseeing help desk for 150 employees and all network maintenance.
Development of internal and external applications to support the day to day operations of client engagements within McBee Associates.

Redesigned McBee Global Pricing System for use at a second client. Included additional layer to the contract complexity which allows them to better analyze their contracts.
Responsible for migration from Novell network to Windows NT.

Developed McBee Global Pricing System for client use to manage their Managed Care contracts for bundled payments. Initially programmed in Paradox and installed on client premises.
