EXPERIENCE

May 1, 2011 to September 15, 2015: District Three Governmental Cooperation: Nutritional Program Asst.: Work with Congregate Sites updating UAIs for clients, keying and scanning info. I send info to transportation updating their list. Update monthly reports for site managers to be completed and returned to us. Serve as Congregate Site Manager when needed. Keep files for Nutrition Program for yearly audit and also, files for forms used by the Congregate Sites. Worked one day with the Accounting Dept. counting money and filing and other as needed. Answered phone as needed.

May 27, 2008 to April 30, 2011 : District Three Governmental Cooperation: Guardianship Program Aide work with this program three days a week updating files and visiting clients in different facilities (five counties and cities of Bristol and Galax), making sure their needs were met as far as clothing, toiletries and other needs. I kept notes on all my contacts, which were typed and placed in their files. I also served as fiduciary for Veterans. I worked in accounting one day each week counting money for deposits, filing and other duties. I work as Clerical/Receptionist and other duties as needed.

I have worked as a therapeutic foster parent with children who are placed in our home with special needs. These children have ranged in the ages of eight years to twenty.

April 2007 thru May 2008: Various positions thru Westaff Placement Agency.

July, 1989 to July 2004: Virginia Department of Corrections, Marion, VA. Program Support Technician, Maintain leave accounting system for officers, keyed leave forms for all employees and provided secretarial support to the Human Resources Office. Assure accurate time keeping meeting payroll deadlines. Other duties included operating the switchboard, copying, filing, general secretarial, processing applications and new hires.

Dec., 1985 to Dec., 1987: Alexvale Furniture Co., Taylorsville, NC. Purchasing Clerk/ Secretary, Fabric Department. Wrote receiving reports on fabric received, made changes needed on computer reports, wrote up fabric orders, ordered fabrics for inventory and market samples, checked on outstanding orders and filed correspondence. Assigned numbers to new fabrics for inventory control. Assisted with physical inventories.

Feb., 1985 to Dec., 1985: Lewittes Furniture (Now Corson Furniture Co.) Taylorsville, NC. Customer Service Assistant. Assisted salesmen on status of orders in process, assisted customers on order status and changes, expedited orders, filed correspondence, assisted with counting and posting of physical inventories. .

Aug., 1984 to Feb., 1985: Walker Insurance Agency, Taylorsville, NC. Was secretary and receptionist for the company. filed, typed policy changes, took payments, typed policy renewals.

1984-1985 Part-time: Cablevision of Taylorsville, NC, Audited and balanced check books monthly.

Sept., 1983 to Sept., 1986: Reformation Lutheran Church, Taylorsville, NC. Served as church secretary. Typed church bulletin and newsletter, recorded offerings and communion cards and ordered supplies. Quit because I had a full-time job which required forty hours and more per week.

Nov., 1967 to Dec., 1977: Moore’s Super Stores: Part-time cashier Nov. 1967 to Aug. 1968, Salisbury, NC store. Responsibilities were: processing all sales tickets, entering data of sales to home-office computer, assisting on sales floor and pricing merchandise. Became full-time cashier Sept., 1968. Additional responsibilities included receiving payments on accounts, balancing register daily, adding sales tickets, balancing monthly statements on open accounts, disbursed and balanced petty cash funds, submitted weekly payroll.

Promoted to Office / Credit Manager July, 1971. Was secretary to store manager and supervised one part-time cashier. Continued previous responsibilities and in addition ordered all office supplies and forms from home office (Roanoke, VA), processed and recorded all special order invoices, completed monthly reports for home office, collected returned checks and past-due accounts, took credit applications and checked and submitted insurance claim forms. Helped set up the company’s first cash-and -carry store in Charlotte, NC. Transferred to Winston-Salem, NC in Jan., 1974 after getting married. Assisted Office Manager and was secretary to the Regional Manager. Transferred to Germanton Rd. store in Winston-Salem in 1975 as Office Manager. Left Moore’s in Dec., 1977 to stay home with my children.
