## NERIST has certified that it follows modular pattern consisting of three modules viz. BASE (certificate), DIPLOMA and DEGREE (B.tech) in Engineering of 02 years each.
## Evaluation pattern in NERIST is based on absolute grading system on a 5.00 point scale and percentage conversion formula is given as: % of marks = (CGPA*2)*8+8
PROJECTS:
“Study of non-linear dynamics of two link compound pendulum” in North Eastern Regional Institute Of Science And Technology, Nirjuli, Arunachal Pradesh from July 2017 to May 2018.
Description of the project:
This is a study of nonlinear dynamics of a two link compound pendulum under the action of gravity. The mathematical modeling of the two link system is done and governing equation is derived using the Lagrangian approach. The governing equation is then used to plot the solutions using MATLABs ODE45. A physical model of a two link pendulum with similar parameters are used in plotting the solutions in ODE45 is constructed and the kinematics of the system is observed under the action of gravity. The positional graph of the end point of the second link is plotted and is compared to the one obtained by ODE45. The similarity among different plots validate the governing equation as well as the mathematical approach and the MATLAB codes. Based on the developed codes, various other studies are done through numerical experiments.
“Tribological characterisation of some oils used in fabrication of biodiesel” in North Eastern Regional Institute of Science And Technology from Jan 2016 to May 2016. It was published on Feb. 2017 in IJRETS.
Description of the project:
The three prime sources of bio diesel viz. Jatropa oil, Nahar oil and Karanja oil has been characterized for their tribological properties and compared with the direct (without additives) mineral oil based lubricant. Jatropa oil was found to be most viscous of all the oils tested. The limited test conducted on the Pin-on-Disc wear and friction monitor, on a mild steel to mild steel mating surface lubricated with these. COURSE AND TRAINING:
