Project title: Thermal simulation of Anti-icing in aircraft wing using piccolo tube

Time duration: 6 months

About the project:

One of the challenges is the accumulation of ice on the aircraft wings which may cause a reduction in aerodynamic performance. To prevent the formation of ice on aircraft wing we are using Piccolo tube. In this method, High temperature, high pressure air from the engine compressor is extracted / bled and passed through a piccolo tube mounted inside the leading edge of the wing. The angle of impingement of hot air ensuing from piccolo tube and external surface of the wing leading edge sufficiently hot to avoid ice formation.
