Manufacturing of composites using various manufacturing methods like VARTM, Hot Pressing, Vacuum Bag Only (VBO) using pre-preg and dry fiber infusion. Mechanical, thermal and electrical testing using various equipments like Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA), Lucas Labs Pro-4, Eddy Current Testing, etc. (2016-present)
Design Engineering Intern National Aerospace Laboratory Bangalore, India
“Modeling and Analysis of an Airborne Geometry using CATIA and CFD tools”
Using CAD software CATIA, the geometry of wing was created and using CFD tools like ICEM and ANSYS the CFD simulation was obtained. Both the CAD and CFD skills were practiced and perfected. (June 2014-Jan 2015)
Manufacturing Engineering Intern Bharat Heavy Electronics Ltd. Hyderabad, India
“Study of Gas turbines”
Hands on experience with working and manufacturing various parts of a gas turbine and other secondary operations incorporated in the manufacturing processes. (May-August 2012)
PROJECTS & RESPOSIBILITIES
Master Thesis California State University Long Beach
“Improvement of through-thickness conductivity of composites using interleaved materials”
Making use of the conductive nature of carbon fiber in composites and boosting its conductivity by incorporation of interleaf materials, such that the through thickness conductivity is improved; also, the effect of interleaf materials on mechanical, electrical as well as thermal behavior is also tested. Aerospace industry application of such conductive material such as for continuous monitoring of the composite panels such that any defects occurred during its life cycle can be detected, lightning strike, etc.
Undergraduate Major Research Project Amity Institute of Aerospace Engineering
“Failure Analysis and Failure Prediction of Aircraft Structure”
Using CAD model simulation of a failure scenario (a crack in particular case) on analysis software Abaqus, in which the propagation of the failure was observed, and data was obtained. Using the available data probabilistic approach was utilized and the approximate probability of failure was obtained.
Undergraduate Research Project Design Your Flight – 2013
“Design and fabrication of high load (7 Kg) carrying aircraft model”
Tandem wing configuration was chosen, and aerodynamic characteristics were investigated for the right airfoil and the structural compatibility of the design was simulated, tested and implemented to create a RC plane with a pusher configuration. Design, Analysis and fabrication, all the stages were carried out and a working RC plane was made.
Term paper Amity Institute of Aerospace Engineering
“Study of Wind Tunnel”
The working principles and other various aspects involved in working and construction of a wind tunnel were comprehended. The different types of wind tunnels were reviewed theoretically.
“Modeling of Six DOF equations using RK4 method”
Modeling of motion and flying characteristics of an airplane. Solving six degrees of freedom equations of aircraft motion using RK4 method by executing a code in MATLAB.
