Job Description:

Provides care for an assigned patients whose conditions are of a low level of acuity, using the nursing process in collaboration with and under the supervision of more senior health care members. Responsible for delivering and maintaining the highest possible standards of patients care all time.

Duties and Responsibilities:

* Perform nursing procedures in accordance with policies and procedures laid down by the nursing department

* Assess physical assessment, early recognition sign and symptoms of arrested patients, assist intubation and confident for any emergency situation.

* Care of patient with NIV and oxygen therapy. Care of invasive lines as per hospital policy.

* Adheres to policies and procedures related to work schedule and sick leave.

* Implement infection control measures to prevent cross infection between patient and among health care team members.

* Maintain effective verbal and written communication skills. Maintain mature and effective working relationship with health care providers

* Perform with aseptic technique for caring of sternum wound and ICD

* Adheres to the nursing dress code on accordance with the hospital policy and procedure.

* Comply with the standards laid down by the Approved International Accreditation Standards.

* Prepare and giving medication as per hospital policy and unit protocol.

* Be aware of hospital policy on “Fire and Safety” and “Grievance and disciplinary procedures.

* Referring the client to his attending physician with regards to laboratory results and reaction to medicines, health deterioration and in case of emergency.

* Acting as team leader in the complete care of the client. Coordinating with allied health workers and other physicians involved in the care of the client.0* Performing procedures

as IV insertion, wound dressing, perineal care, catheter insertion, NGT feeding, oral care, cleansing or evacuating enema, tracheostomy care, colostomy care as ordered or as necessary.

* Giving health teachings to the client and his family on health promotion and disease prevention and management.

* Give care in knowledge, skillful and consistent manner, in compliance with established standards of practice, policies and procedures.

* Prioritizes work load based on patient needs and effectively complete all duties and task within a designated time frame.

* Assists in orientation of new assigned.

* Communicates in a courteous, accurately and timely manner, speaking English and Arabic as appropriate.

* Adheres to the nursing dress code on accordance with the hospital policy and procedure.

* Sharing information and clarification to the client and his family with regards to his health status and the procedures and management to be performed with him.
