Company SKF India Ltd

Title Manufacturing Engineer (Face & OD Department) Projects

1. Project on improving the CLA (Surface Roughness) of Deep Groove Ball Bearing Inner Ring on channel 8. Initially CLA was found very low in the range of 0.08 - 0.1 mm which resulted in wheel marks during Groove Grinding operation. It was improved by changing the wheel standards and modifying the driving plate and later the CLA was found out to be 0.15 – 0.18 mm thus reducing the wheel marks. 2. Project on manufacturing process time reduction of Taper Roller Bearing on DDS 709

& DDS 1186 Centerless Face Grinding Machines used in Volkswagen Polo model by modifying the inlet and outlet chute design.

3. Project on Cost of Non-Quality (CONQ) Scrap Reduction of DGBB used in Mahindra heavy duty engines focused on improving the quality of inner and outer rings at the initial stage of manufacturing itself to avoid quality defects during assembly. Software CATIA, AutoCAD, MS Office

Team Size 1

Duration August 2016 – July 2017

Description,

Role & Contribution

Supervising and handling manpower on the shop floor along with overseeing the manufacturing of DGBB, TRB & HUB bearings.

• Responsible for quality checking & defect analysis of all the three types of bearings.

• Design improvements on CATIA and AutoCAD to meet customer requirements.

• Perform weekly KAIZEN & 5S improvements on the shop floor.

• Conduct quality measurement tests on Ovality, Squareness and Waviness test sets.

• Improved the material handling system throughout the shop floor by modifying access roots and implementing new techniques.

• Successfully completed three projects within an year and also part of the team which received the Safety Award for the year 2017.
