April/May 2017 Sparkhound

I was hired by Sparkhound in Baton Rouge to work on the Restore Louisiana call center. There was a problem with the contract and it had to be rebid. During that time I worked at Touro Infirmary answering tech support calls. I would assist the user, and log the call in the system, and escalate as necessary. I participated in the initial rollout of computers for the call center, but the rebid contract did not have the level 2 support positions, and they were unable to pay the rate I had been offered.

September 2016 to March 2017 Cypress Graphics

The owner is a friend, and his house flooded in August, and he lost his key employee shortly after. I have been making and installing graphics, signs, and working with our production of CNC parts. Jerry has 2 new employees, and I left to resume full time job search.

I have been working on small projects for CWA as needed. I have stayed in contact with the principal, Dale White, since I left the company. I have restructure their site to site VPN’s, and troubleshot some persistent active directory problems.

Support Engineer at a managed service provider. We provided complete outsourced IT services. I provided direct support to end users via phone and email, and via our help desk ticket systems.

Projects included Windows Server installs and upgrades 2003-2012, Microsoft Exchange deployments and migrations, AutoCAD deployment, AutoCAD licensing, and AutoCAD Vault install and migration, SQL server, SQL and Access based application deployment. We also provided disaster recovery/continuity with ShadowProtect and VMWare, including offsite virtualization of servers. Remote desktops included Citrix servers, Cloud based Citrix, and cloud based Exchange.

Day to day support and maintenance of Windows and VMWare servers and desktops. Server applications included SQL Server, MS Exchange, Active Directory management. Desktop applications included MS Office, AutoCAD, Quickbooks and other specialized applications.

Support and monitor network infrastructure, switches, routers, firewall and VPN.

IP telephony setup and troubleshooting, using the Star to Star cloud based phone system and Cisco phones.

Direct user support, using Continuum Remote Monitoring and Management, logging service info in Tigerpaw and Connectwise.

Installed and supported routers, firewalls, and VPN’s (Cyberoam, Sonicwall), including deploying and supporting WAN’s.

Installed and managed Antivurus with Trend Micros Office Scan, Webroot Secure Anywhere, and Malware Bytes.

Installed and supported servers, desktops, and infrastructure. Servers include RAID, multiprocessor, and backup systems. Operating systems from DOS through Windows XP, Server 2003, and Red Hat.

Installed and supported routers, firewalls, and VPN’s (Cisco, Sonicwall), including deploying and supporting WAN’s using Frame Relay, Point to Point, and other systems.

Administered CWA’s ISP operation, providing ISDN, ADSL, collocation, email and webhosting.

Installed and supported Avaya IP telephony systems, including Communication Manager (Definity), Audix, Modular Messaging, and Enhance Meet Me Conferencing. Key deployment team member on a networked system in 7 cities, moved several of the systems, and performed major software upgrades. Continued to manage the system as the primary client contact after deployment. System consists of multiple PRI circuits, IP trunks between systems, analog lines, and a mix of digital and IP phones.

Managed Exchange server for CWA and customers. Performed database recovery on damaged information stores.

Installed and managed Antivurus software from Symantec and Trend Micro.
