UNIVERSAL AMERICAN, a WellCare Company – Houston 2014 – April 2018 Director, HR Operations and Benefits (reported to Senior VP of HR) Provided overall leadership and directions for HR operations (data, systems, processes and analytics) – core HR, payroll, talent acquisition and learning and development – and managed third-party administrator (ADP Health & Welfare) and benefits providers / carriers to ensure regulatory compliance (ACA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA).

• Maximized the use of technology by developing and implementing Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Manager Self-Service (MSS) as well as developing and delivered training, resulted in increased data integrity and automated processes, transforming HR from a transactional to a consultative model.

Manager, HR Shared Service Center (reported to VP of HR) Provided oversight and leadership for HR Shared Service Center (pre-employment, onboarding, employee life cycle, I-9s, benefits, payroll, employee files, and annual federal reports EEO-1, VETs, AAP) including service delivery, operational effectiveness and efficiency, business process review, continuous improvement activities, and technology strategy serving 6000 employees in 140 locations across the U.S. and Canada.

• Led several key initiatives integrating 6 divisions into a common financial platform (PeopleSoft), a payroll system (ADP PayForce), an applicant tracking system (Taleo), and Form I-9 (HireRight). Resulted in uniform policies and processes as well as a reduction of FTEs by 14%.

• Directed a $2.5M PeopleSoft (PS) HCM (core HR, ESS, MSS and Time and Labor) implementation for North America--USA and Canada--including training (classroom, webinars, and user’s guides), system interfaces and customizations. Completed on time and within budget. Served as an advisor for PS implementation globally.

• Saved $500k annually by converting antiquated paper records to an electronic document management system.
