Las Vegas properties represent approximately 75% of the union contracts in Caesars Entertainment. Responsible for 68 collective bargaining agreements with 11 unions. Membership ranges from 12,000 Culinary Employees to smaller units of 200 employees

in building trades. Locations are Caesars Palace, Rio Hotel and Casino, Harrah’s Las Vegas, LINQ, Flamingo, Cromwell, Bally’s Las Vegas, Paris, Planet Hollywood and Caesars Laundry. Responsible for all phases of Labor Relations from second step of grievance process, Arbitration, Chief spokesperson for contract negotiations, Labor Relations strategy, Union/Management relations and general advisor to property management.

One of three senior managers assigned to Caesars Palace at the completion of the 2005 merger to capitalize on the strengths of the operation and transition to new company concepts including the implementation of service friendly environment to eventually develop to a culture. Reviewed the operation at every level to determine staffing and related efficiencies post merger. Implemented a new approach to employment standards and labor relations. Redesigned the Employment Center operation to efficiently accommodate six properties and an employment base of approximately 30,000 employees through a single facility. Managed business transition from strong year over year growth to a rapidly declining market beginning in 2008. Restructured workforce to meet the business change.

Horseshoe Hotel and Casino

While retaining duties at Harrah’s Las Vegas became a member of a small management team to open a dark Casino following the purchase by Harrah’s Entertainment. In a twenty-one day period the property was moderately reconditioned, deep cleaned, 3 Kitchens rebuilt, 2 Service bars rebuilt, Gaming floor reset, deep clean of the property, rehired 1000 employees, created independent payroll services, third party administrators and received licensing following inspections from all major agencies. Commenced World Series of Poker in facility three weeks following opening. Operated the property for one year taking a defunct operation to positive cash flow.

The Bon Marche (now Macy’s)

Seattle, Washington 1972 – 1996

A division of Federated Department Stores, operating in five states. Since has been consolidated in to Macy’s West and currently being consolidated further. Previously The Bon Marche was a division of Allied Stores Corporation and Campeau Corporation. It was the division known for continued growth, creativity and successful margins as a result of innovation. Many members of senior leadership were provided additional assignments at Corporate or multi-division to implement best practices or general integration as consolidations took place. At the Seattle operation, there were 14 Department Stores and Distribution Services under union agreements. Managed 37 labor agreements, served as Chief Negotiator for company and multi-employer groups. Negotiated a wide range of labor agreements covering most occupations in the service and retail industry. Held Vice President role for Executive and Organization Development. As VP, Human Resources, responsible for every discipline of Human Resources to include policy and practice, best practices, performance management, employee relations, labor relations, legal compliance, benefits, training, compensation, management placement, organization development, communications, diversity, HR systems and customer service. Held numerous positions in store management, corporate roles in Operations, Vice President positions in Labor Relations, Organizational Development and Human Resources.
