Simulation and calibration of 1-2 shift process for a 6-speed Automatic Transmission April 2017

A vehicle powertrain system with a 6speed automatic transmission system was modeled in SIMULINK

Developed control logic for the on-coming and off-going clutches during the 1-2 shift

Calibrated the on-coming clutch pressure in 1-2 shift reducing the torque hole and Torque overshoot for a smoother shift

Transmission Loss of a Muffler Nov 2017

Created a solid model of a pipe with and without muffler baffle plate on SOLIDWORKS and harmonic analysis was conducted using ANSYS workbench 16.2

The pipe with baffle plate resulted in some transmission loss which is helpful in reducing noise and created a back pressure which is crucial for exhaust system of a vehicle

Simulation and control of a series hybrid vehicle. Mar-Apr 2018

Component sizing like engine sizing, motor sizing, battery sizing was done considering various driving cycles, performance requirements and required range.

A MATLAB code was written to achieve all the modes of a series hybrid vehicle and the propulsion power, regenerative power and soc for a driving cycle.

The engine power and battery power was controlled such that there is minimum energy consumption for each instance in a driving cycle and achieved 61 Mpg in EPA-City cycle, 52 Mpg in EPA-Hwy, 58 Mpg in US06.
