POSITION DUTIES I AM FAMILIAR WITH
During my years at Blood Bank and Immunology departments, I was responsible for:
Group and Antibody ID, on Blood units.
Patient’s Group and Antibody ID; Cross matching and Blood radiation.
Run, check and keep QC records of each assay performed.
Platelet and blood washing.
Ensure that QC was within appropriate limits, confirm abnormal results and brings problems to the supervisor, prior to releasing test.
Process specimens as needed and enter resulted into the computer.
Troubleshoots problems: specimens, reagents, instruments, computer, as needed.
Performs daily and monthly maintenance on the automated instrumentation as needed.
Assist in maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
Assist the Laboratory Supervisor in training new employees.
Run the laboratory by myself on weekends.
Attended phone calls, fax results to doctors, book appointments.
Follow SOPs and state requirements for QC on specimens, instruments and reagents,
OSHA’s and HIPAA’s Regulations.
I performed tests, maintenance and troubleshooting on the following instruments:
SEBIA HYDRASYS – Serum/Urine Protein Electrophoresis, and Immunofixation.
TOSOH - Hemoglobin A1C's by HPLC.
