Investigated the role of divalent metal transporter 1 (DMT1) in copper transport into the body.

Measured the levels of DMT1 protein in human epithelial colorectal adenocarcinoma cells (Caco-2) when cells are in different states with regard to amount of iron.

Cell culture of human epithelial colorectal adenocarcinoma cells (Caco-2) and liver cells (HEPG2).

Preformed cell culturing, cell counting, cell lysate, medium preparation, protein purification, protein assay, buffer preparation as well as gel electrophoresis and immunoblotting (western blot).
