I started in residential electrical working for a small contractor. In 1993 I graduated from the California State Certified Electrical Apprenticeship Program in Ventura California and became a state certified electrician. Since then I have worked in numerous areas of the electrical industry ranging from industrial process buildings and plants, to state projects including schools, hospitals, jails, mental health and juvenile facilities. Various installations included installing transformers, electrical switchgear, motor control centers and panels, motor controllers and related piping, wiring, cabling, terminations and testing. Work also included system controls, fire alarm systems, security systems, nurse call systems, lighting controls, etc. (detailed project history list is available upon request). Since 1997 I have been an electrical construction foreman supervising crews of up to fifteen workers on numerous types of projects providing layout, coordination, material handling and installation of work including underground utility, residential, commercial, and industrial process clean room types of building installations. Also performed Construction Administration and MEP Coordination duties for both on site and in office environments which included verification of construction installation of all major utility and building systems per the contract documents and specifications. I provided quality control, field reporting to the project owner, meeting with project contractors and construction teams to aid in project coordination. I am routinely involved directly with contractors, engineers and clients to help coordinate system installations while providing request for information, design document clarification, problem solving, schedule input and evaluation, project status, issues identification and resolution, specific utility connection termination coordination for equipment and appliance connections, quality control and punch list for project closure. From 2015 to Present: SimplexGrinnell/ Johnson Controls Project Manager managing construction projects in the Southern California Central Coast area for installation of Fire Alarm, Nurse Call, Security, Access Control, CCTV, Public Address, Intercom, Time Clock. Involved directly with contractors, engineers and clients to help coordinate system installations while providing request for information, design document clarification, problem solving, schedule input and evaluation, project status, Issues identification and resolution, specific utility connection coordination for equipment and appliance connections, quality control and punch list for project closure. Previous experience includes coordination of Installations MEP and utility systems. Construction Administration for both on site and in office environments which included verification of construction installation of all major utility and building systems per the contract documents and specifications. From 2012 to 2015: HBE Corp. specializing in hospital construction where I am involved directly with contractors, engineers and client to help coordinate MEP system installations while providing request for information, design document clarification, problem solving, schedule input and evaluation, project status, Issues identification and resolution, specific utility connection coordination for equipment and appliance connections, quality control and punch list for project closure. Installations include major utility system installations for underground site utilities, Building and Site Plant Plumbing and HVAC Equipment: closed loop hot water, chilled water, steam, domestic water, fire line, and medical gas. Installation: switch gear, panels, emergency stand-by generator, power, lighting and Building Systems Including fire alarm, nurse call, low voltage systems, tele/data communication, security, access control, CCTV, public address, intercom, fire suppression, medical gas alarm, mechanical, electrical, plumping. From 2009 to 2012: I have worked for M-E Engineers Inc. a nationally recognized Mechanical and Electrical engineering firm that designs MEP systems for sports complexes, hospitals, schools and other healthcare facilities. My duties while there were in Construction Administration for both on site and in office environments which included verification of construction installation of all major utility and building systems per the contract documents and specifications. I provided quality control, field reporting to the project owner, meeting with project and construction teams to aid in project coordination, MEP plan review with OSHPD IOR inspectors, ACO and FLSO state officials. My duties also included reviewing and resolving contractor’s issues, response to project RFI’s as well as review submittals and shop drawings for completeness, conformance, equipment, connections, equipment start up procedures and testing certifications. I also assisted in project closeout and with punch list processes to help ensure timely project completion and turnover to client. Duties also involved mechanical/electrical/plumbing system and equipment coordination with sub-contractors while interfacing with the client, vendors and consultants.

Personal Attributes and Goals: I interface well with company staff and always work to promote fluid team communication and organization. I try to help mentor fellow employees where needed and I like to learn from others as well, in an effort to help streamline the project team operations to maintain efficiency. I strive for and prefer top down team style of leadership with clear direction of goals, responsibility. I feel these things make for a better work environment which, in my view, leads to a higher quality, better production and promotes good company reputation as a result. I like to maintain accurate and updated information for team members and contractors at all times to help ensure they provide same to their personnel for proper installation. Preferred Method of Operation: I believe safety is first and foremost on every project, followed by being clean and organized; I like to get an early and thorough understanding of the tasks at hand as well as related project specifications and drawings so I can pre-plan, schedule and coordinate each job properly. Coordination and cooperation between different trades as well as having a core group of quality and experienced people working with me on the job for as long a duration as possible is the most valuable to me; this helps assure team fluidity and that the proper information is maintained in the field throughout the project thereby allowing everybody to focus on the main goal - To do the job right the first time while meeting the required schedule by relying on foresight, pre-planning and proper personnel tasking along with continual project evaluation and adjustments where needed.

Educational Training Courses: California State Electrical Apprenticeship (5 years), college classes in welding, basic electronic circuitry and some C.A.D. background.
