Group O, July 2014 to June 2018 – Sr. EDI Analyst, Service Now Administrator

Daily application analysis to help trouble shoot in house users’ problems & test corrective fixes for these problems and software updates & fixes.

Adding new EDI customers/vendors, new EDI data sets for existing EDI Trading Partners to Microsoft Navision ERP system in their Supply Chain, Marketing & Packaging divisions, along with daily EDI monitoring. Began converting legacy EDI to new XML/SQL based software (Data Masons for Microsoft Dynamics/Navision).

Wrote numerous VB-Scripts providing stop-gap solutions, until permanent solutions were available.

Planning and documenting conversion from their old Digital Equipment (DEC) EDI system to Gentran Integration Suite (GIS) for their Manufacturing division. The new GIS system includes over 100 EDI maps (810, 820, 824, 830, 832, 846, 850, 852, 853, 856, 860, 861, 862, & 864 X12 data sets and 5 EDIFACT data sets) and 10 business processes using BPML, XML & Java. Technical lead for full outsourcing of Palm, Inc.’s EDI and trading partner relationships. Lead a team of developers in the full conversion of Palm’s SAP systems to new GENTRAN Sun Solaris platform. Mentored and trained all on-going support staff. Developed and/or modified over 40 EDI maps. Developed UNIX shell scripting for outbound, inbound processing, async communications and an innovative report for 997 statuses to their SAP system.

3COM (July 1999 to December 2000) - Sr. EDI Consultant

Converted existing Gentran processes to use an upgraded version of SAP, from version 2.2 to 3.0, then later to version 4.5. Used UNIX shell scripting to improve outbound and inbound processing. Installed Gentran SAP Extension, which greatly reduced mapping instructions, development time and translation errors. Developed 26 new EDI maps. Installed 91 new Trading Partners utilizing ANSI X12 transaction sets 810, 846, 850, 852, 855, 856, 860, 867 and 997. Trained 3COM employees to better understand Gentran and UNIX as well as better prepare for Y2K. Played key role in 3COM’s project to spin-off their Palm division.

Deluxe Video Services (February 1998 to June 1999) – Sr. EDI Consultant

Responsible for converting EDI processes from an AS400 translator to Gentran Server for UNIX. New processes used Gentran’s SAP interface with Oracle database running on SAP R3. Revised, customized and improved Gentran’s SAP extension and other existing scripts to better suit the customer’s needs. Developed 8 new maps (using data sets 850, 810, 846 & 861). Developed new Gentran Server scripts to send and receive files from Advantis. Scripts included restart logic and self-correcting procedures. Performed SAP functions, including Trading Partner setup, documentation tool, and maintenance of processed orders. Trained client employees to take over Gentran Server responsibilities. Installed and customized Gentran Server client software on numerous personal computers.

Conversion of EDI system from an IBM mainframe to Sterling Gentran Server for UNIX. Created dozens of EDI maps in both translators for numerous trading partners. Implemented an automated e-mail process and async dial in system. Implement and test disaster recovery procedures. Also proficient in Bisync and Async communications, UNIX scripting, programming the C language, various UNIX utilities (including FTP), PC software communication programs and some system administration duties.
