Dear Human Resources,
I am writing to apply for the women’s health care nurse practitioner position at your practice. I am confident that my seven years of medical surgical nursing experience at The Miriam Hospital in Providence, RI and my one year of clinical experience in women’s health care (OB/GYN) make me an ideal candidate to successfully fulfill this position. During my clinical rotations, with the approval of my preceptors, I had the opportunity to conduct new patient intakes and assessments for OB and GYN patients. I performed countless annual physical exams, including clinical breast exams, prenatal/post-partum care, STI testings and diagnosing of infections, as well as, gynecological exams with, and without pap smear. I assisted my preceptors with insertion of intrauterine devices (IUDs) and nexplanon arm implants, and independently performed IUDs and nexplanon implant checks at follow-up visits. I collaborated with my preceptors to prescribe appropriate medications, such as contraceptions for birth control and antibiotics to treat various infections. I educated and provided counseling for our patients pertaining to obstetric, gynecological, sexual, reproductive (infertility) and post- menopausal health and follow-up with them appropriately. I assisted my preceptors with scheduling appointments for ultrasounds, mammograms and made referral for our patients as appropriate. In addition, I observed my preceptors perform several colposcopies and endometrial biopsies and I am capable of performing those procedures as well. Furthermore, I am women’s health care NP board certified, licensed as an APRN and nexplanon certified. I graduated from Regis College-MSN Nurse Practitioner program and I have a strong academic background which has provided me with theoretical knowledge and enhanced my critical thinking skills to practice effectively to meet the needs of the patients, as well as, the expectations of your company.
I believe that the qualities and experiences mentioned above are valuable and would make me a great addition to your company. If there is any more information that you need, please feel free to contact me as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Rachel Blay
