Internship – Engineer Aug 2013 – Nov 2013

Abhijeet Tools and Dies Pvt Ltd – Mumbai, India

Worked with Quality Control (QC) Department to measure the dimensions of the molded thermoplastic parts (using tape and different calipers) supplied to automobile industry. Compiled and managed all the data accurately into the system and presented to senior engineer. Interacted with shop floor people and learnt about injection molding.

Worked on SAP (Systems Applications and Products), to invoice customer purchase orders and order entry and QC check. Read and interpreted specifications and materials orders and combined and maintained accurate records.

Wrote documents, control plans and reports assigned by senior engineers in MS Word and Excel and communicated effectively with co workers regarding completed tasks.

Got familiar with ISO standards as the company was registered with ISO 9001:2008.

Worked on Excel to fill in data sheets of CAD drawings for audit purpose.

Relaince Thermal Power Plant – Dahanu, India

Worked with Mechanical Maintenance and Control & Instrumentation Department and got introduced to Coal Handling Plant (CHP), Ash Handling Plant (AHP) and Water Treatment Plant (WTP), different control and measurement techniques and working & maintenance of valves, pumps, blowers, boilers, turbines and compressors.

Projects

Enhanced Oil Recovery using carbon dioxide injection - Studied carbon dioxide injection on carbonate rocks theoretically using optimal parameters of pressure, temperature, solubility and salinity and compared it experimentally on sandstone and carbonate rocks using carbonic acid and different brine solutions, calculated porosity and permeability theoretically and experimentally and using Eclipse software obtained the recovery rate and total oil production.

Design optimization and CFD analysis of heat transfer through fins - Designed different fin geometries (cylindrical, parabolic, conical and trapezoidal) and compared their efficiencies for heat transfer for natural and forced convection, set up the experimental equipment and analyzed the experimental results with CFD software ANSYS FLUENT.

SAE BAJA 2011 - Participated in national level off road vehicle building competition under SAE-BAJA 2011 representing college SPCE, India and worked with the logistics team. Communicated with different vendors and shop owners to acquire appropriate products and managed accounts. Helped the team with assembling and testing different parts for building the car.
