WORK EXPERIENCE
February 2013- STRUCTURAL DESIGNER
May 2018 PROTECT CONTROLS INC.
At Protect Controls we Design and manufacture Electrical Buildings for customers like Seimens and Eaton. Inside the buildings are pieces of hardware such as Switchgears, Motor Control Centers, UPS Battery systems, PLC Cabinets, High Resistance Ground cabinets and all the Panels which are used to control these components. As a designer I am supposed to locate these pieces so that we meet all NEC standards without fail. And also so that when all the gears are wired together that they are laid out in such a way that when laying out the Conduit and Wire-way it is more efficient for our Electricians.
Just as important is designing the building itself. The base of the buildings are made of Structural Steel members which need to laid out in a way so that there is no interference with wiring up the Switchgears and MCC”s. From there we have to locate the doors and any possible windows. We then generate the walls and roof.
Also, I was given the responsibility of managing the “As-Built” drawing packages. I would inform the Designers involved that their building has shipped and that they have to complete their As-Built package by a certain date. Here at Protect Controls, we used AutoCAD Mechanical 2014 & 2015.
June 2010- DESIGNER
February 2013 TEXAS SYSTEMS & CONTROLS
At Texas Systems & Controls I was brought aboard at a time when they were just starting to expand their staff because they had secured a very large contract with their Client Terrabon. We were going to make for them a number of skids used to transform trash and waste into fuel products. Some of these skids are even placed on top of other skids. I was one of the very first persons hired at this point. Shortly after being hired, I was the one person responsible for generating the P&ID’s using the CADWORX Software. Shortly after that, I was the one person to take the lead in generating the Automated Isometric drawings using CADWORX. I also wrote out instructions so that the other members of my team would also be able to generate Isometric drawings without me having to sit right there with them, showing them how it is done. I also had written out instructions on how to generate pumps & motors using the CADWORX Software. Here at TS&C, we used AutoCAD 2008 & CADWORX 2009.
June 2008- 3D DESIGNER
June 2010 DANFOSS-CHATLEFF
At Danfoss I was a Contractor. I was brought aboard as the company was looking to modify and update most of their current automated machines. I would be given the 2D drawings that were used to make the machine assemblies and asked to generate 3D models. Once I was done with each model we would then update the machinery with new ideas in order to make better versions of the older models. Some of the machinery was re-made for the plant here in Texas. And then other pieces will be produced for the plant in Monterrey Mexico. While at Danfoss we used Auto CAD 2008
Feb. 2006- STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER
Feb. 2010 PAUL-KOEHLER-BROWN
At P-K-B we did many different Commercial projects. We did retail shopping centers, Office buildings, Parking Garages even Waste Water Treatment Plants. My main role there was to provide more of the detail work for our Engineering Staff. They would provide me with a rough sketch of how they wanted a certain details to look & then I would generate those details using AutoCAD 2006
May 2005- STRUCTURAL STEEL DETAILER
Feb. 2006 DENNIS STEEL
At Dennis Steel we did many different projects. We did retail shopping centers, Movie Theaters & Schools. In fact, we did most of the different schools for the local Leander School District. From Elemantary schools, Junior High Schools & High Schools. There at Dennis Steel we used AutoCAD 2004 software. We also used Structural Steel Detailing Cad Program (S.S.D.C.P.) and another software package called Detail
