October 1987 to February 1989: Security Advisor for PDVSA -Venezuelan Petroleum Industry: (1) Responsible for coordinating the Industrial Protection and Security Activities of all the industries installations in cooperation with the Venezuelan National Guard; (2) Responsible for ascertaining the security vulnerabilities and implementing the countermeasures and (3) Advise and Assist the filial Companies in the Evaluation of present and future Industrial Security and Protection Technologies as well as their implementation.
July 1984 to October 1987: Technical Advisor for the Corporate Security Manager of “Banco de Venezuela S.A.”; (1) Responsible for supervising the design, installation and maintenance of the security and fire alarm systems at all the Bank locations in the country (150 locations); (2) inspecting, installing, programming, selecting and training of personnel in the use of a “Mosler Comsec” computerized security system for the Bank’s 35 story main building in downtown Caracas; (3) creating, training and maintaining the Emergency Brigade Team for said high rise; as well as (4) training all the Bank’s personnel occupying the building on Emergency Procedures and Preventive Measures.
June 1981 to November 1983: Operations Manager for “Centralarm, C.A.” a local security service group; (1) Responsible for the design, installation and maintenance of fire detection and extinguishing systems (Walter Kidde, Fenwal Inc., Honeywell, Fire-Lite, Pyrotronics, Ademco, Cardox, Automatic Sprinkler, Viking, Ansul and others) using Halon 1301, C02 (high & low pressure), Dry Chemicals, various foam systems, water deluge systems; (2) resident Engineer for the maintenance and redesign of the automatic (pneumatic detection and activations systems and explosion proof systems) fire detection and extinguishing systems of 23 platforms at lake Maracaibo and 5 ground stations in the state of Zulia belonging to Corpoven; (3) have participated in the design, installation and maintenance of an explosion detection and suppression system by Fenwal in the aerosol gas filling room of Lever-Ponds of Venezuela and have participated (4) in the fire protection plans for the first Cryogenic Plant of PDVSA, and (5) responsible for the company’s Alarm Central Station duties and the maintenance department.
July 1974 to June 1981: Started as a part-time security and investigations operative and polygraph technician till 1977 when we were named Technical Department Manager at Consorcio ORDECA -Organización Detecta C.A. Responsible for (1) the design and planning of the Caracas Metro’s first 7 station’s security and safety measures, (2) Safety and Security Surveys of Planta Centro a thermoelectric generating plant belonging to CADAFE (national electricity generating company), (3) selection and maintenance of all the company’s intelligence and counterintelligence equipment as well as their use and applications, including the Stoelting three pen polygraph instrument and the Dektor CIS Voice Stress Analyzer.
Independent professional activities: Local Assisting Engineer for “Toplis Engineering UK” in the indemnity recovery case against Siemens & Borsig in Venezuelan Courts due to an explosion of boiler No. 2 at Planta Centro 1983; Security and Safety Surveys of all four of the production plants of “Cervecería Polar C.A.” the biggest beer producers in Venezuela; Invited by Fenwal, Inc. to study the construction of some off-shore rigs and their fire detection and extinguishing equipment at Brown & Root, Houston, TX; In house Consultant, Security Advisor and Polygrapher for "Consultores Securitas, C.A."; Security Advisor for various Engineering Firms, Banking Security Associations and the National Governments Interior Ministry.
