Personal Statement
I am assistant professor at college of engineering in American University of the Middle East in Kuwait. I received my PhD from Dundee University, UK in 2016, in the field of Industrial Metallurgy and Manufacturing and over the past 15 years, I worked for many international companies such as American University of the Middle East - AUM (Kuwait), Rautomead (Scotland), Foseco (UK), British Gold Refinery (UK), Qualitest (Canada), Chori (Japan), and done extensive work and have gained extensive knowledge in the field of materials engineering and metallurgy. My experience so far includes working on various metallurgical process such as various casting techniques (continuous casting, green sand casting, CO2 mold casting, investment casting, die casting) and other manufacturing process such as extrusion, rolling, forging, powder metallurgy and various welding technologies such as railroad thermite welding and TIG/MIG arc welding. I am also expertise in various topics such as continuous casting of various copper alloys, aluminum alloy filtration, ceramic foam filter, precious metals refining, thermite welding, shape memory alloy casting, NDT (RT, UT, VT, PT), failure analysis, microscopy analysis (SEM/EDX, Optical Microscopy). I have vast experience in metallography analysis, sample preparation and working with acids and etchant preparation, alloy heat treatment and corrosion testing, mechanical testing (tensile, hardness, impact) and so on. I have also published a number of papers on metal casting and attended on a number of seminars and conferences on various topics related to this field. I am a professional member of the Institute of Cast Metals Engineers (ICME) and Member of IAENG International Associate of Engineers. I have also awarded level 5 of management certificate from Ashorne Hill Management College, UK PDP study (Personal Development Plan) from NDR UK and Quality Assurance (QA) from AMRC training center, UK. I am also able to work with MS Office (MS word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint), CAD/CAM, Casting Simulation (ProCAST, MAGMA), and Metallography analysis (Clemex) and FEA software (ABAQUS), Computational Materials Engineering (Thermo-Calc Software). I am also familiar with Analysis of variance (ANOVA). My educational background and working experience currently has so far equip me with a good understanding and knowledge of metallurgical engineering.

2017 - 2018 (American University of the Middle East):
During the past year I worked as an Assistant Professor of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering in the American University of the Middle East (AUM) in Kuwait. I contribute to teaching on the engineering programme in the Mechanical, and Industrial Engineering departments. Taught courses include: Manufacturing Process 1 (IE 370) and Computing in Engineering (IE 332) and IE 300. I supervised 15 undergraduate project students and and mentored over 20 industrial graduate projects in the field of industrial and mechanical engineering, primarily in manufacturing such as metal casting, metal forming, powder metallurgy, machining, welding. I was also responsible for IE 370 course project (replacing traditional manufacturing process to additive manufacturing process such as 3D printer). I was also playing a pro-active role in conducting the final exam and associated tasks; including preparation of examination documents and guidelines. Also I was academic advisor of over 50 IE students and course coordinator of IE 370 and revised and modified old lessons to be used in the next semester. I have also experience with ABET accreditation system and requirements.
