HSBC US Business has been focusing on fighting financial crimes and mitigating risks arising out of these. As an offshoot of these efforts, HSBC deployed couple of Fraud engines to detect, prevent and manage suspicious activities enterprise wide in real time. The two fraud engines deployed are FraudNet V 5.0 and SASEFM V 4.2. With this technology it is possible to monitor automatically any suspicious behavior, document the decision process, and if applicable, file pre-populated reports with the appropriate authorities. The application aided the timely reporting of any anti-money laundering and counters terrorist financial operations.
