Job Summary: Using a high degree of independent judgment and problem solving skills,assist external and internal customers, and proactively coordinate resolution of issues. Provide exceptional customer service when responding to telephone, email or written inquiries. Must perform all duties, meet deadlines and work well under pressure with minimal or no supervision. Serves as a good role model and mentor at all times by exhibiting professional and positive behavior. Call volume requires performing department functions at rapid pace while maintaining quality. Ability to handle all types of specimens in the laboratory. Use a high degree of independent judgment when solving problems and ensure all stats are called to the client in a timely manner and that turnaround time is monitored. Listen, analyze, answer and resolve customer inquiries received via phone or correspondence. Review patient and client calls for possible errors. Correct errors and submit appropriate form(s). Manage customer calls using AIDET guidelines and soft criteria skills. Use department logs and schedules:

Toxicology Logs-document all information on log and manage and follow

processes.

Use online schedules for Pathologist, weekend and holiday departmental

coverage.

Serve as a lead in the department, as needed, in the absence of Lead or Supervisor.

Participate in department meetings as well as mandatory, annual continuing education programs. Strong working knowledge of systems and procedures used in the department.

Excellent communication skills and ability to lead and direct others. Demonstrate a

professional and positive attitude utilizing company guidelines and soft criteria skills to

include the ability to deal with difficult clients and patients.Demonstrate ability to use effective communication and interpersonal skills with clients, coworkers, supervisors and other personnel throughout the organization. Meet all current productivity and accuracy standards for 10 of 12 months.
