Skills
I have utilized the Spanish I learned in college to communicate to broader communities, and it has served me well ever since. As a student at Grand Valley State University, I was a research as- sistant to Dr. Gamal Gasim, referenced below.
After graduating with honors, I attended Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley School of Law. During those three years, I worked under Attorney Martin Mead, also referenced below. Under his tutelage I learned a great deal about the practice of law at the appellate level. Beyond the research and writing, I believe the legal profession rests on interpersonal communications and relationships that drive our society and businesses forward. Upon admittance to practice I struck out on my own. I am currently a trial attorney, working
“under my own shingle”. I have successfully litigated several cases through trial at the district level, though my preference and expertise lies in appellate practice. References
