GOALS (VISION)
As a North American, and having spent most of my life in Ecuador, I have found much gratification in combining my language and cultural knowledge with my technical and administrative abilities and skills. My immediate goal is to continue offering my services to international companies working in Central and South America or where the need may be.
My long-term goal has centered on creativity and sustainability, ie. directing design-build of civil project substantially impressive in esthetics and function and\or what I call
“progressive change” projects tackling at a local level global issues ranging in purpose from basic needs, education, environment, safety and security. SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Over 25 years of diverse construction experience: building and erecting 400 ft radio antennas, marine construction of sea walls, docks and deck (air assisted, PADI AND SSI certified), house building (USA and EC), furniture fabricaction, construction of Kodiak Airplane Hangar, building refrigerated warehouses, 4x4 accessory and Rhino lining installation, Management of wide variety of heavy equipment including maintenance and trouble shooting of earthmoving equipment, cranes (up to 200 ton), Bidwell paving machines, water well drilling rigs, most shop tools, generators etc. Over 15 years of management positions with international companies building both DoD and DoS projects: USAF Airfield construction, Managing 24 hr Operations office, construction of US Consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador (start to finish). During this project I occupied several positions including: Site Superintendent, Security Systems Technician
(temporary TSS), Security Manager, and Health/Safety Manager for demolition of old building, placement of pilings and all phases of new construction. Security /Safety and Health Program Manager (3 years total). Site Superintendent, Security Manager (1 1 2 years -- Apr. 2011- Sept. 2012). CCE INC., Maryland, USA / Guayaquil, Ecuador.
Set up, management and closeout of Safety and Security Management for DoS Overseas Building Operations construction of US Consulate in Guayaquil, Ecuador, meeting OSHA 30 and EM 385-1-1 safety specifications and OBO DoS security regulation.
This included hard demolition of existing building and placement of over 180 28m pilings, managing all phases of construction. Management of over 300 pax with no major incidents. Trouble shooting and maintenance of Temporary Site Security systems (cameras, sensors etc.), receiving all secure shipments, CCE/OBO security liaison.
Coordination of subcontractors and scope of project (layout, excavation, foundations, structure, concrete, roofing, leading into finishing phase framing/drywall, flooring, windows/doors, cabinetry etc.) built to specifications of the DoS (OBO). Direct Supervision of all crane activity.

Concrete Superintendent for Airfield Construction, ABB SUSA Inc., Manta, Ecuador- Overseeing operation of placement of over 70,000 m3 of concrete paving meeting specifications and deadlines of contract with US Army Corps of Engineers. Worked closely with three other Superintendents and one Construction Manager to complete the Electrical, Mechanical and Civil tasks of this project. Managed operation of over 40 heavy equipment (including a 60 ton crane) as well as more specialized equipment ensuring safety and project completion ahead of schedule. We had over 1300 personnel on this job with more than 300 under my supervision. Oct 2000-April 2001
Safety Manager for Airfield Construction, ABB SUSA Inc., Manta, Ecuador - Set up and administrated Safety Program for the construction of Manta FOL Project. The US Army Corps of Engineers awarded the “Celebrate Safety Award” to this program. Responsibilities included:
Construction and Airfield Safety as specified by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Coordination with Ecuadorian Air force, USAF, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Control Tower, RMS and DAC (Ecuadorian Civil Aviation Entity) for the execution of Safety, Security, and operational procedures on airfield and Manta Air Base.
Acquisition and setting up of Radio Communications system for ABB SUSA and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers with radios also keyed to the control Tower frequency.
