Systems Analyst

Collected and processed over 10,000,000 transactional data with over $100 million indirect tax liabilities to hundreds of local, county, state and federal governments in US and Canada monthly and delivered the data with accuracy and before the deadline every month for ten years

Major projects completed are:

oAutomation of processing data flow controls. The process collects total record counts and tax amounts from each step of processing processes that are used to reconcile the totals from first step to the last to be sure no data are lost at the end. This is also required by SOX. There were close to 100 packages or steps to run, to collect the totals manually from each step to spreadsheet was very tedious and time consuming. Using SSIS package to collect the totals and store the data to SQL table automatically greatly improved the control accuracy and efficiency that also made the control easy to review and sign-off by the manager. The project involved brainstorming, team meeting, documentation, flow chart, design, approval, SSIS package coding, testing, sign-off, move to production processes. This project saved 90% of the time.

oProcess simplification project. The process streamlined seven source data processes and reduced SSIS packages from close to 100 to 60 that reduced 1/3 of the processing time and made the whole data processing process a lot easier to understand and maintenance

oBuilt an new access database for Tax and GL reconciliation that saved time for compliance in their tax reporting

oCreated federal motor fuel tax SSRS reports for compliance to accelerate tax reporting
