My career objective is to work in Field Service or Computer Centers resolving complex issues while satisfying customers.
EXPERIENCE
OCT 1992 – FEB 2000
CUSTOMER ENGINEER, Hewlett Packard
Onsite Customer Support on Printers, Computers, Storage systems, Networks, SAN’s, and Tape Libraries.
Taught a network class that I put together to teach the engineers basic networking: modems, switches, Cisco routers, IP subnetting. Developed the network Lab and students came from all over the US. Setup a lab for the CE’s to practice on systems hardware, software and firmware updates.
Created a method to download all firmware onto a cdrom, this speed up our ability to update the firmware faster thus reducing down time.
I would Escalate calls when the problem was not getting resolved in a timely manner.
I worked with customers in recommending best practices and upgrades to improve their uptime.
I Scheduled preventive maintenance with customers, on their schedule, to keep computers and other peripherals up to date on firmware and perform any updates as needed.
FEB 2000 – JAN 2013
ESCALATION ENGINEER, Hewlett PAckard
I provided 3rd level support to the Customer Engineers, Response center engineers, and would engage the engineering lab when a product defect was found.
I did remote and Onsite support when customer anxiety was high.
I supported system hardware and software for HPUX and windows 2000 – 2008.
I supported Enterprise disk array systems, fibre channel SAN’s, and their peripheral cards.
I reviewed customer SAN configurations for compliance of a supported configuration. Assisted the customer in updating their SAN’s Firmware and Zone configurations.
I was also the local lab manager for our office.
OCT 2011 – SEPT 2014
OWNER, The Shootin’ Shack
Gun shop owner selling guns, ammunition, and accessories.
Also, did gunsmithing break/fix
Managed 2 employees.
I had gross sales of 500,000.00 per year.
My lapse of employment from 2014 till now was due to me being on disability due to a rare bone marrow disease called Aplastic Anemia. I was in treatments and just recovering from that disease. During that time I spent the majority of the time with doctor appointments and resting due to very low blood counts. Once I was able to stay awake I began training on Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2016 in my home lab.
I am now in full remission and doing fine.
