WORK EXPERIENCE
R&D Structural & Mechanical Engineer at KPS Global May 2017-Current
Design Structural Steel Components in accordance with customer requirements, survey sites and lead team meetings to accommodate cost affection.
Work in teams that design and develop new products with special emphasis on designing products for manufacturability
Develop and test models of alternate designs and processing methods to assess feasibility, operating condition effects, possible new application and necessity of modification. Take data-driven decisions to finalize product dimensions
Generate blueprints and technical drawings using 3D tools. Create schematic, computer -generated reports and other necessary documentation to transfer products to manufacturing.
Recommend and implement design modifications to increase tooling life, eliminate post-process operation and improve final part tolerances
CAD Designer (Computer Aided Design CAD Drafter) at KPS Global April 2016- May 2017
Utilized Autodesk Inventor and AUTOCAD to prepare approval and manufacturing drawings based on customer requests
Calculated bills of materials for products, interpreted quotes, documented changes, and designed products according to local, state and engineering requirements
Assisted team members by providing design feedback on intricate and complex designs
Collaborated with project team members, design leads, sales team, and engineering team by clear communication and updates of timelines, design objectives and deliverables for various projects
PROJECTS
Unmanned Lego Robot Design:
Worked in a team of five to assemble a programmable Lego robot capable of obstacle avoidance by programming the robot in a firmware environment and presented results to an audience of ~30 students and ~5 faculty members.
Heat Transfer Project:
Studied temperature distribution data for a cooling solution of a computer chip and created a presentation comparing two proposed solutions.
Performance Project:
Performed a preliminary drag coefficient calculations, A/C performance calculations and propeller analysis for a P-39 mustang.
Structures Project:
Studied behavior of material under stress and bending using various techniques such as Tensile Test Material response and four-point bending test of an I-beam.
Planned and conducted experimental, operational, and stress tests on models or prototypes using shear center experiment, column-buckling experiment, and composite material experiment.
SKILLS
AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Strong Interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated through effective listening, persuasion, and project team interactions at KPS
Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics with the ability to contribute expertise and follow leadership directives at appropriate times.
Utilized software environments like Octave, MATLAB, Pro/Engineer, Solid Works, ANSYS, Inventor, and RISA-2D.
