ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
Self-Driving Vehicle Lab – Virginia Tech Blacksburg, VA Mechanical Engineering Designer Aug 2017 – Present
• Designed a new future-oriented golf cart dashboard and computer protection with various ergonomic features such as a touch screen, removable steering wheel, etc. using AutoCAD Inventor
• Manually manufactured the parts using a variety of engineering tools
• Improved the structural connections between the servo motor and steering wheel
• Reinforced the dashboard with more stable and stronger beam structure INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE
National Institute of Energy Research Daejeon, South Korea Student Engineering Intern Jun 2017 – Aug 2017
• Participated in the cool-down project of overheated solar panels in order to increase the heat transfer efficiency
• Researched mainly on how to decrease the surface temperature of solar panels using natural convection
• Analyzed the air flow induced inside the channel in fluid mechanics and heat transfer-wise with Matlab and EES
• Collected data such as temperature or air flow velocity and visualize them in plots through Matlab
• Based on the lots, improved the air flow velocity by installing vertical dividers along the air channel and thus helped decrease the overall surface temperature of solar panels by 3 – 5 degrees in Celsius U.S. Army Military Affiliate (Korean Augmentation to the United States Army) Camp Hovey, South Korea Supply Specialist Jul 2013 – Apr 2015
• Received, inspected, and issued supplies and equipment
• Maintained automated supply system for accounting of organizational and installation supplies and equipment
• Scheduled and performed preventive and organizational maintenance on weapons
• Posted transactions to organizational and installation property books and supporting transaction files Operations Squad Leader Oct 2014 – Mar 2015
• Supervised and trained nine soldiers as a Sergeant in the squad
