ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Software Engineering Project
The main objective of the project is to produce working software that serves as an admin dashboard with easy-to-use functionalities where the admin can take care of scheduling different session based on available information for each semester, and also take care of announcements. The dashboard is to be designed for the current CSMC(Computer Science Mentor Center) at UTD.The main technologies used to design the dashboard include PHP, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Javascript alongwith Symphoy, Doctrine, and Docker. The project required the complete software engineering process beginning from requirement elicitation to on-site deployment.
Hardware-Software Co-Simulation for Pollution Detection
(Nominated for Gandhian Young Technological Innovation (GYTI) Awards 2017)
Developed a hardware using raspberry pi and connecting modules to detect pollution and LPG gas leakage and provide notification and alarm at appropriate time. Also designed a web site to provide live readings and a database in the backend using SQL.
Shopping Portal Using RESTful Web Services
Designed an online shopping portal with the capabilities of selling as well as bidding on items using Web Services. The front-end was designed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript .Validation was done using JQuery and the database was accessed using RESTful web services. The connection to the server was a secure https call and the data was compressed on both sides of the communication.
Search Engine using Object Oriented Architecture
Developed a search engine using the object oriented software architecture model using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript. The website information was stored using indexes and was retrieved using Java JDBC to be displayed whenever the search matched the stored information. The Java classes were designed using modular approach and the motivation for the architecture was taken from the book Software Architecture: Perspective on an Emerging Discipline by Mary Shaw and David Garlan.
Database Engine Implementation
The goal of this project was to implement a rudimentary database engine that was loosely based on a hybrid between MySQL and SQLite. The implementation supported single table operations and was designed using Java. The database used a file-per-table approach like MySQL InnoDB Engine. All the basic operations like SHOW, CREATE, DROP and UPDATE had been implemented.
WORKSHOPS AND SEMINAR
Ethical Hacking
Attended a workshop on ethical hacking which was directed towards providing knowledge regarding the various hacking techniques and ways to prevent them . A certificate was awarded on completion of the workshop for an excellent performance on a small project during the workshop.
Encryption Techniques
Gave a seminar on various encryption techniques and demonstrated how elliptic curve cryptography can be implemented and used in real life applications.
