DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Following nursing process in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluating daily individual patient care.

Complex Medication management.

Critical/ General nursing care.

Admission, discharge and transfer of patients.

Prioritize nursing care for assigned critically ill patients based on assessment data and identified needs.

Managing medical emergencies.

Basic and advanced life support measures.

Cannulation and venipuncture.

Assessing the physical, psychological and psychosocial behavior of the patient.

Coordinating with the physicians and other health care professionals for creating and evaluating customized care plans.

Set up and monitor medical equipment and devices such as cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators and alarms, IABP, oxygen delivery devices, transducers and pressure lines.

Administer medications intravenously, by injection, orally, through gastric tubes or by other methods.

Providing postoperative care for patients post CABG, MVR, AVR and Post Heart Transplant.

Assisting for CV catherization, Chest tube insertion and pleural drains, intubation and extubating.

Managing cardiac emergencies like cardiac arrest, Myocardial Infarction, arrhythmias such as ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, supra ventricular tachycardia

Responding to life saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for teaching.

Advocate for patient’s and families’ needs or provide emotional support for patients and their families.

Wound care, management of transfusions.

Meeting nutritional, hygienic and elimination needs of the patient.
