Led a group, consisting of members of Application Development, Oracle DBAs, Unix Engineers, and Storage Engineers, in migrating the RFS Production Support database to a new server. This effort required proper coordination between the teams in the ordering of storage and memory and modification of existing scripts and scheduled jobs. This migration was the first step in deployment of a larger plan of implementation of a new clone strategy for RFS Databases.

Planned and timed the SUR and COR recoveries for ATS and RFS databases. Worked with the overall COR recovery team to ensure the correct timing

Technical Services Oracle DBA, Aclara Technologies, Inc., Hazelwood, MO
2005 to 2013
Hired as Software Support Engineer to act as the application development liaison to the Technical Support group and rapidly progressed to the position of Technical Services DBA providing architecture, support, and performance management for over 300 Oracle databases. Held responsibility for upgrading Oracle software and troubleshooting any Oracle database related errors encountered on customer systems.
Performed investigation of any errors caused by the design of the software and communicated the details of what caused the error, and a potential fix, to the software group.
Conceptualized, wrote, and led the deployment of a database and server monitoring program marketed as an add-on service. The sales of the service reduced the number of support calls due to database and/or software outages and the monitoring service contracts increased Aclara’s annual revenue.
Created and led a group of Technical Support Engineers in performing all server builds, software deployments and upgrades, and database upgrades. I trained all of the group members on how to install and/or upgrade both the Aclara and Oracle software and scheduled and delegated human resources for each project according to customer-required completion date, availability, and workload.
Conducted training sessions for both external customers as well as internal employees to increase knowledge on common database maintenance needs.
Reduced the technical support department travel expenses for system installations and upgrades by 95%.
