Director of Quality

Manage a multifunction quality team for $80 million/year electronics and power generation firm. Create and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance to AS9100 and customer requirements. Responsible for meeting internal and external corporate quality measures and stopping any escapes of non-conforming product.

Supervised, mentored, trained, and evaluated a team of 23, which included a staff of three managers, three department supervisors, and six quality inspectors. o Departments managed under the quality were: Calibration, Quality Systems, Document Control, Supplier Quality, Inspection and Quality Engineering.

Contact point for customers regarding any quality issues for OECO product, customer audits, sourcing of customer products and factory escapes.

Launched Zero Defect Process for Plant. OECO was lead site for implementation for 43 sites. ZDP tools used: SPC, D/PFMEA, Process Control, MSA

Cost savings of $2.7mill due to implementation of Quality Clinic method. Brought together process owners for solving factories top impact issues to quality.

Scrap reduction savings of $940,000, for years 2016 to 2017 by systematic implementation and adherence to basic problem-solving tools, i.e., 5-whys, 3C’s (concern, cause and countermeasure) Quality Manager/Quality Engineer (OECO) 11-2012 to 1-2016 Managed internal procedure program maintained process and revision control. Evaluated Quality Engineers on performance to continuous improvement goals.

Was responsible for AS9100 certification. Conducted continual internal auditing to ensure compliance to customer and Aerospace Standards.

Managed all customer visits/audits of OECO’s systems, products, and procedures

Evaluated and recommended improvements to customer products to maintain quality throughout assembly process.
