August 2016-Present
EXPERIENCE
Eagle Motorsports FSAE Statesboro, GA
Suspension Design Lead August 2014-Present
Created Matlab program to mathematically model the tires in use for FSAE including forces experienced on the contact patch of the tire along with slip angle data, slip ratio, and camber variance.
Used Solidworks Simulation and Ansys to optimize part weight to achieve lighter designs while maintaining part stiffness and manufacturability.
Lead Role in manufacturing numerous components of EMS15, EMS16 and EMS17 race cars for drivetrain, suspension, brakes, and driver control systems. CNC CAM programing to manufacture complex designs with accuracy.
Used OptimumK and Adam’s Car to analyze and design the kinematics for suspension linkages. Roll rate data and Camber variance in roll and steering analyze to select Roll centers, caster, kingpin, ride height, and Anti properties of suspension.
Brakes design August 2014-Present
Conduction a comparison of various materials for a brake rotor design including mild steel, stainless, and cast iron to select a proper floating rotor design with an aluminum center piece.
Improved part weight using Ansys while maintaining braking reliability and performance. Powertrain Design October 2016-December
Matlab program for intake and exhaust valve opening timing for GSXR-600 4 stroke engine. Pressure drop values over valve time openings and overlaps could be analyzed to accurately improve flow of the intake. Team Captain August 2016-Present
Manage a team of 6 lead design engineers along with a 60 person race team organization.
Lead manufacturing process for 6 subsystems in a race vehicle (powertrain, drivetrain, frame, suspension, driver controls, and body)
Conduct weekly meetings on design updates, research, and manufacturing to stay on schedule throughout the season
Eagle Motorsports reached its highest placement in Lincoln FSAE 2017 season RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
